Naturally, you'll have to factor in the issue that Rooney isn't comparable to Messi.
Ooh, good, controversy

Tbh, Argentina have hardly been exciting this tournament - both them and Switzerland aren't really exciting. In fact very few of the traditional favourites, aside from Holland have been really great to watch.

Wonder what the response would be like in Argentina knowing that in the UK a fair few peole want/wouldn't mind Argentina winning the WC even if it is because of Messi. Somehow I can't imagine there would've been cheering in Buenos Aires for Rooney to score the winner in the final!
The Argentines can support whoever they wish, it would not bother me.

I wish they'd shut up about Messi! He's not even been that impressive *waits for him to score*

I think they should stop relaying the BBC commentary to the players; it is doing them no good.

You don't think lesbians would find her attractive? or that lesbians don't watch football?

A moment of excitement - and Lawrenson sucks the energy out of the studio.

What was that from Gago?!

I expect Argentina to still win, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't due to a magic Messi moment.

Di Maria's cross is something you do when 3-0 up and cruising, what an idiot.

Where in my post do you get the idea I want Argentina to win the WC?. Do you have some degree in invisible writing?.

To make it plain, I would prefer the Germans or Brazilians to win the WC....

Argentina coming into the game more and more now but Di Maria has been very poor. Very wasteful.

I really rate him, but he has been poor, no doubt about it, unlike Messi, of course, who is a genius, so cannot be other than a genius. Perish the thought anyone suggests he has lost a bit of pace this year ...

Decent strike there from Messi. Better chance for Higuain.
