I take the point because so much has happened in this World Cup that it does seem an age ago that Spain were considered one of the favourites.

I was making a slightly different point, though, that this month-long tournament feels like it's gone by much quicker than that.

Love Beckham, his enthusiasm and pride in being captain of his country.

Never known any England captain who speaks with such passion about playing for England.

Nah - its gone slow for me.. it seems to have been longer as watching the games and following the news has become part of my daily routine. What am I going to do with my evenings after this????? Trauma!

Are they buliding germany up too much? Yes they were good against brazil but lets face it brazil were dreadful. If brazil had put even a bit of a fight I think it would have been a lot closer but unfortunately it they didn't. Argentina will be a lot tougher to beat. Its certainly not gonna be one way traffic like holland had in the semi. Just hope it doesn't go to pens.

Bobby Moore?

But on the other hand, where did enthusiasm and pride get Brazil?

How is ITV doing? I've got the talking suits, which I might get used to eventually.

Record several hours of highlights from the red button tomorrow and play them every night?

I reckon the next four weeks might drag a bit.

The 4 quarter finals were all disappointing, some of the R16's weren't great either.

I reckon we've had probably the best group stages, possibly ever. I heard Alan Hansen call this the greatest WC by a mile, I know I've been beating this drum a bit a too much now, but what planet are some of these guys on? By a mile?

Hopefully we'll get a good final so these sychophantic pundits can say they've actually earn their money for once.

An early Germany goal might kill the game and I think they would run away with it, an early Argentina goal would throw them into their shells.

Well, it you're comparing it to the last 2 or 3 then I'd agree with Hansen... SA and Korea didn;t have the drama and surprises of this world cup... although yea, not the greatest ever

Clarence going open neck with a vest to boot! I know Henry had to go back to MLS but why has Seeforf been absent from the BBC for the past fortnight or so? My 2 favourite pundits this WC.

Could also come down to psychology in the end. I can't say much about the Argentine mentality, how they would react emotionally if the Germans got an early goal. On the other hand, the Teutonic spirit will not go down the pan if their opposition score first.

Was thinking on same lines, as I have recorded about a dozen games, and when I get down I coiuld always watch them, to remind me of the great times I had in this Forum I know I'm going to miss watching the WC, but I won't have to rush home to watch another game, when it's lovely out is another way of looking at it.

Dinosaur. He will get away with it though, if it was Lawrenson there would be a twitter storm about it.

Well Alan Hansen is 58 so I'm sure he's seen a few, its not just the greatest ever, thats one thing, its the greatest ever by a mile. The hyperbole is getting so outrageous.

Clarence Seedorf is excellent. He only got 5 months in the job at AC Milan before being sacked, I hope he gets another job somewhere, he's a likeable guy and he knows his stuff.

That's the joy (if that's the right word) of being a Celtic fan. The new season starts on Tuesday with a CL qualifier live on BBC.
