You could argue that the best ref award is the team that officiates the final (barring a few circumstances).”

I see, so its called a golden ball award. Thanks for the answers. So it looks like the FIFA world cup's the Golden boot has a different meaning to UEFA's version then. Now I can understand why unlike Messi winning the Golden ball award no-one seems to be arguing about whether Rodriguez deserved the golden boot award.

No work today for my colleagues and me.

I have to say I love Mehmet Scholl as a pundit and hope the ARD cling on to him. He's much better than Oliver Kahn.

ARD guy: "How was it in 1996?"
Mehmet Scholl: "Helmut Kohl came to visit us in the dressing room."
ARD guy: "And how was it?"
Mehmet Scholl: "Cramped."

You are having a laugh aren't you?

Why are people so soft nowadays?

The referee actually had a very good game.

It was laughable how people were calling for a red card for Aguero. Not an elbow whatsoever.
Gary Lineker got it right.

Worst foul in the match was a German one - in the first half.

Knee high challenge and nowhere near the ball.

It's incredible really because when it really matters Germany deliver and England do not.”

Youd rather be German, then with their history?

One thing that puzzles me about ITV and BBC coverage is, unless I missed it no interviews or mention of Pele. Surely he deserves some sort of mention or coverage.

He was interviewed by Gary Lineker in a pre world cup programme about Brazil and their football culture.

It's been OK to like Germany these last few years because they played good football but never actually won anything. I wonder if that'll change now that they are the World Champions.

I\m afraid you won't find sympathetic ear from me on that score. I'm not going to elaborate any further because we both probably feel quite strongly on this and it'll go off-topic.

A site where you get the top 10 titillating facts about nipples. Seems legit.

Correct me if I am wrong but Ozil, Khederia and Boetang are respectively the first players to have ancestors from Turkey, Tunisia and Ghana to win the world cup.
Were any of the german team born in east Germany or the areas that were East Germany.

You could use the internet on the computer you are using to cross-check the facts?

I wasn't surprised by the result, but I am disappointed that Argentina didn't win. I had them in the sweepie draw, so I'd been supporting them since the start, so it would have been nice if they'd gone all the way.

Germany are one of the last countries I wanted to win, but at least I won £18 because my team came second, so I can't complain too much.
