Final group games tonight.

I have pretty much done nothing else but watch the games and pop to the shop for essentials. (Been off work the whole time)

Been rather fab.

First day off in two weeks tomorrow.

Yes will seem a bit strange no football tomorrow.

I hope we don't into dull defensive football in the second round with teams playing for penalties

Yeah been the best footy tournament I can remember watching (since Italia 90). Even if the amount of goals decreases I hope we get the drama in the latter stages like semis/final in 2000 and 2006.

Agree with the general comments.

Some cracking looking ties to come - lets hope the attacking goal feast is maintained.

BBC: "We are now up to 133 goals for the group stage - a new record. The previous best was 129 goals in 1998."

Still 2 games left to play. Brazil 2014? Take a bow!

Yep, it's been a great World Cup so far. Even England going out hasn't dampened my enthusiasm.

It's shaping up to be one of the best ever.

No football on tomorrow evening means I'm gonna have to converse with the missus again!

Will easily surpass South Africa and Germany's total. 145 and 147 respectively for the whole tournament. Should exceed the South Korea/Japan total of 161 also. France had 171 goals so may run that one close as well.

Anyone tempted to place a bet on no shootouts in the knockout rounds?

You could catch up with the reviews from previous World Cups the BBC have been running - last weekend they had 1986 and 1990.

Rather painful I know but still good viewing.

I'm at a loose end. I might have to do the same and talk to the wife.

Really looking forward to the rest of the games, as a total neutral it should be fun. Watching penalty shoot-outs without sweating profusely and swearing will make a pleasant change for this old Italy supporter. I imagine it will be the same for my English friends.

well, I'm supporting Costa Rica and even have the shirt. The country's top of the Happy Planet index and has no army. Plus Joel Campbell is an Arsenal player (well I hope so Mr Wenger). Plus they've given their all this World Cup. I'll be gutted as a fish if they go and lose to Greece.
I've a soft spot for the French too, have had since the Schumacher Incident robbed them of a place in the 82 final. Just hope Deschamps hasn't killed the attacking momentum with his tactics and team the other night. They missed about 7 chances though - Nigeria might fancy it.
So many goals, sunshine, Brazil....remind me why I didn't just blow all the savings and go?
