I think the third place play off is on ITV itself only.

The only possibility at the moment seems to be whether you or Peter_Lamy creates the match thread.

Whilst many will see this as pretty much a nothing game, it's still worth savouring. I remember Hakan Sukur scoring, what I think was the fastest goal ever at a World Cup finals in the 2002 3rd place play off I think it was.

it doesnt help that <insert name> is refereeing. In the previous round between <insert team> and <insert team> he gave at least 6 yellows

All to the same player, Howard Webb went too far.

I know what you are saying. Maybe when we get the World Cup out of the way we can have more threads asking why the FA Cup has no quarter finals on quarter finals day.

Roll on March.

Good chance that the Golden Boot winner will knock in a few in this game, has happened a number of times in the past

That's a good point. Muller got a goal in it didn't he, four years ago if memory serves, Thomas that is, not Gerd, or Dieter, to avoid any confussion.

But no more silly than the concept of a third place match. Who came third last time?

i think its very unfair to have a 3rd place game. There should be no winners or losers in professional sport
