My crystal ball is saying Chile, or possibly Colombia.

I'll expect Brazil, Colombia, France, Netherlands, Costa Rica (!), Argentina, USA and Germany to survive from that lot. For what's its worth I wouldn't be that surprised if Chile dispatched Brazil.
Belgium: The Next Generation just haven't impressed me yet and they will probably win their group, I don't really see Germany or USA not winning against 1st or 2nd from Group H. |

Definitely the potential for a few upsets in there.

It's a shame England didn't get a softer draw in Group D as Greece would probably be the easiest opponent for us out of all the teams who have made the last 16.

France should beat Nigeria, but if Nigeria are in the mood...who knows? Argentina v Switzerland? Argentina for sure right? But they struggled to contain Nigeria and the Swiss have that striker who knows where the back of the net is (dunno his name). Just how many more times can Messi drag his team-mates over the line? Anything can happen. Its been that kind of tournament. Costa Rica could be Quarter-Finalists! |

If Brazil and Argentina both fail to get through, I'll be happy. I think Chile can comfortably beat Brazil and the Swiss could nick a one goal win against Messi and co.

![]() Brazil vs Chile I've backed Chile from the start (along with portugal...ta ta) but I suppose I am expecting a bit of a backlash from Brazil and wondering if Chile have shown too much too soon. Still, will keep faith with Chile. Colombia vs Uruguay I've got to go with Colombia. They've been very impressive and I think they are big contenders to go all the way. France vs Nigeria Easy choice for France based on what I've seen. I don't know how France usually fare against African opposition but they look one of the strongest sides. Netherlands vs Mexico I suspect this might be where I veer from the normal. I've seen Dutch sides play brilliantly in World Cups in the past and then totally just not perform next round and I think Mexico could be just the team to repeat that. They seem strong all over and have a great team ethic. I think they could out-battle them. Costa Rica vs Greece As dogged and determined as Greece are I just think Costa Rica have more going forward. If they can handle the set plays then I think they'll come through this. Argentina vs Switzerland Argentina have started slowly but then that's maybe not such a bad thing for them. I like the Swiss side a lot and think they'll go well at the Euros but I think Argentina will step up a gear in the knockouts. Aguero and Higuain are due to show more. USA vs Belgium (probably) There's no doubting the USA spirit and if they can keep their players fit and injury free I think that will be enough to take them past a Belgium side who still appear to be less than the sum of their parts. Germany vs Algeria/Russia/South Korea No matter who comes through I think Germany will have too much for them. |

Couldn't wait 3 hours to start the thread when the title would actually have been true and we'd know all the games? These premature threads really are getting beyond a joke, so tiresome.

Semi finalists are looking like Brazil vs Germany and Netherlands vs Argentina. Brazil will beat Netherlands in the final.

Have Algeria played Germany since the controversial way they were eliminated in 1982?
