Anyone think Mercedes is HO's Lindsey Corkhill and Ronnie is EE's Lindsey Corkhill.

They both seem to have gone the same way Lindsey transformed into the local bad girl with a gun lol! When I read spoilers the other day for Ronnie and her gun I thought straight away of Lindsey from Brookside because of the the similarities and as I've watched Hollyoaks' Mercedes transform from the slapper next door to the killer next door it reminds me too of Lindsey's transformation, specially when she shot Grace. Also with Mercedes she's been kidnapped (like 4-5 times), held a gun to Dr Browning and shot Grace, threw Clare in front of a car, killed Browning and been involved with he local gangsters - Lindsey was kidnapped and dabbled with guns and gangsters too.

Anyone agree?

About the only thing left for that equation would be for them to date a woman. McSlapper I don't see with that.

Mercedes shot Grace!?

Yes but it was an accident. She held Grace at gun point unless she transferred 500k into her account (doubt she would have killed her anyway) but Freddie tried to grab the gun off her and it accidentally went off and Grace got shot. She survived though.

Mercedes is actually my favourite character in soap right now. The writing is fab! Absolutely love her trashy lifestyle and one-liners.

Oh I don't think so, this is HO so it could be possible, look at Sarah Barns - had all the men before going for girls. I think Mercedes will dabble init for fun but Ronnie seems like someone who would actually get into a relationship with a woman, wether it's actual love or something to be gained from it.

Me too! I really like Mercedes! Hope she stays for a long time to come. I love how she's gone from the slapper next door to the killer next door. When she first came into HO she was just a slag who slept around and had affairs but now she's really gone further by stabbing herself and framing others, fake kidnapping her son, kidnaps and fake kidnaps, covering up murder, actually killing and attempted murder. Now that's what you call character development. People moaned a lot that she was always the same sleeping around and never learned her lesson but there has been a lot of development in the last 3 years or so and she's really grown as a character. Best character in HO by far - or any other soap for that matter.

I love how she now has self awareness. Before she always tried to justify her awful behaviour. Now she reminds me a bit of Janine Butcher - she knows she's awful and plays up to it!

Yes! That's true.

In the E4 episode today we were treated to a lovely interchange between her and Dennis where he mentions Blessing and her response was along the lines of 'yeah yeah we know she's a bloke, it's all we talk about, now will you leave me alone.'

(Can't remember the exact wording).

It was just brilliant.

On the behaving the scenes videos on YouTube at the soap awards she mentions theta a love triangle coming up, I hope it's not with Freddie but with Trevor and Grace.

I hope Grace and Mercedes make a alliance like Brendan and Warren did.
