KO Round picking up right where the Group Stages left off in terms of excitement, love it.

I think Chile are having a game of kick Neymar in the air
![]() Great first half. Brazil don't like it when they aint winning, they seem to get panicky and keep looking at the bench for help. |

I think Brazil might tire first.

So good to see KO football being played in such a manner rather than two teams scared to make mistakes.
Howard Webb again is falling into the trap where he is scared to make hard calls. |

Looking at this first half I can see 1 of the European trio of Germany, Holland or France winning in S.America. The only obstacles I can see are the conditions or some moments of genius from Messi for Argentina or Neymar for Brazil. Or maybe referees.

I think the penalty shout was right in that 50/50 zone where some referees would have given it and some wouldn't. It is worth considering, though, if the reaction to the soft Brazil penalty against Croatia has now made referees go so far to the other extreme that they're now unwilling to give them rather clearer penalties. |

Great game, the first time I've been really impressed by Neymar as he is getting hacked about no end but still going. Alexis Sanchez also impressing along with Vidal. Hard to call this - probably a 2-2 draw.

The fact that they're taking place on these shores does not stop the Commonwealth Games from being a poor man's Olympics, Mr Lineker.

Are you just referring to the penalty there or other decisions as well?

To be fair, the commonwealth games is probably the best of the multi event sporting events outside of the Olympics.

"Greatest half in the WC so far" says Alan Hansen.
I thought Germany vs Ghana 2nd half was far better. There's been a lot of mistakes and its been intense, but the qualities been pretty ordinary. |
