Columbia are good, but. England would have beaten them, if they weren't so unlucky in the groups stage

From goal of the tournament to team goal of the tournament.
We're watching a rising power in World Football here. Colombia have been a pleasure to watch. Columbia had an easy group. Personally I think Holland look stronger, getting through a much tougher group. I'd love a Columbia versus Holland final though. What an exciting prospect that would be. |

Two great goals, cohesive team play. It's just like watching... another yellow-shirted team.

Few dubious challenges coming in now from the Uruguayans.
A 3rd goal would wrap this up. |

Oh so that is what Emu is getting up to these days without Rod Hull, he is a Columbia supporter

As much as we've enjoyed him playing, maybe withdrawing Rodriguez would be a good idea, in order to save his ankles.
You saw how Cavani snuck in a stamp when he saw it was Rodriguez challenging him. |

Uruguay ... one man team.
Hope the little cheat gets pilloried at home ... but I dare say he won't get the Beckham treatment. Come on Colombia ... get a few more |

More space in this game than the earlier one. Colombia are spreading the play really well.

Sterling.
![]() ![]() I think he might be the Rooney of that era. A very good footballer on form but not quite at the top level as he's billed to be. |

Uruguay woken up as they have to. Will suit Columbia to counter. I think they've scored first in all their games be interested how they'd handle falling behind and having to chase a game.

Uruguay should have put Hernandez on from the start.
He has an impressive strike rate, similar to Suarez, but playing much fewer matches. |

I agree with you that we are probably seeing a rising power in football, Chile too. but I'm not sure I'd rate them as the team of the tournament so far though.
Columbia had an easy group. Personally I think Holland look stronger, getting through a much tougher group. I'd love a Columbia versus Holland final though. What an exciting prospect that would be. |

No, but for me, a very pleasant surprise, even more so than Chile. Quote:

Uruguay just don't seem to have the creative attacking moves.
Much like England. |
