I look forward to seeing what players go on to dominate the game in the next five or more years as Messi and Ronaldo decline. James will be right up there but Neymar and Bale have the advantage of already being at massive clubs.

I still rate Cahills just in front, he had to watch it over his shoulder all the way onto his foot.

Both immense goals mind.

Is Chiles right??

James goal is surely better than Cahill? Not sure, its pretty close, but its not a given.
It's very close. In terms of technique, Cahill's was better given that it was on his weaker foot. You wouldn't see James doing that on his right. I think the extra distance and immaculate chest control/turn from James just tips it in his favour though.

SCHORCIO !

Seriously, that was not just goal of the tournament for me, but goal of the year in all football.

The look, the chest, the turn, the hit, the bar, the bounce, the goal

(Seriously I think there is some award for that)

That was brilliant!

You would never get a BBC or ITV commentator do that!

One of those players, though, may have the disadvantage of not being able to play at a World Cup.

No I think it's subjective. Both great goals.
I think it's that the current goal brings forth immediate emotions and that's why at the moment if feels like the best goal in the world ever.

I still think the RVP goal is better. You can get more power and placement on the ball with your foot.

Plus for the RVP goal, my Dad, who's not a football fan, was running around the living room. He's been watching all the games since!

No but Chiles saying James is surely much better. Its already goal of the tournament etc.

I don't mind who's people thinks is better. But Chiles is telling us its this one, the door is closed.

Brilliant team goal converted by that man again!

Four or five touches around the penalty area completely tore the Uruguay defence apart.
