Who actually won: Phil Mitchell or Derek Branning?
Two invincible thugs, pairing off against each other. Bad blood.
Who ended up the victor, do you think? I am watching scenes on YT now of the beginnings of their rivalry, when they are playing poker in the boxing club.... but I know this storyline ran and ran, and Phil ended up in prison. But who had the final word? |

Well, the only thing Derek is running these days is the cemetery
I wouldn't be surprised if Phil ordered Derek's heart attack.

I think Phil had the final word, he punched Derek after Derek claimed he slept with Shirley and got all his businesses back. Once the punch happened Derek never really bothered Phil again, though to be honest i think that had more to do with the fact that the story got dropped by the producers suddenly.

Why did the producers drop the Derek and Phil feud?

Why DID they drop the feud? I remember the last scene that had anything to do with it, was them in the Square, Phil on the bench, and Derek proclaiming dramatically: "THE LINE HAS BEEN DRAWN" and Phil cracking his hole laughing at him. Then, nothing.

I don't know why the storyline was dropped to be honest, i don't think the storyline was liked by a lot of viewers so maybe that was it. I think Phil would of won the feud if it had carried on, Derek had contacts but the Square is Phil's as was highlighted in one episode when Derek hired some local thug to do some work for him but when he found out it was against Phil, he went to Shirley and told her all about it as he knew Phil was the King around those parts. Also Derek was never in the same class as the likes of Johnny Allen, Andy Hunter or Jack Dalton who were proper gangsters, Derek was just a small time villian who thought he was bigger and more dangerous than he actually was.
As usual. Both so predictable and utterly pathetic. |

I know i was expecting derek when he first came to be a big time gangster who wouldnt be scared of phil and have contacts. Plus, he had jack (bent copper) to help him, max and possibly joey. Now thats 3 people derek could get against phil who did phil have billy lmao. Derek was a big big let down i expected a man that just come out of prison after 10 years to be seriously dangerous but its probably the writing because im sure jamie foreman could have been a convincing hardman. Phil sort of won because derek (the man who holds grudges over anything) got dropped, went home and forgot about it lol.
