I think it was the worst year in the show's history.

Watched a few minutes then turned to one below - the women of Ramsey Street. Some blonde decked Paul Robinson!

I was right into Neighbours at this point being totally addicted to it and coming home from school and planting myself in front of the telly to watch. But seeing this clip has reminded me how ordinary the show was at that point. It's nice to see Lou with a bit of life in him and the Holy Roll (Godawful name looking back) is a better set than todays Harolds but apart from that there's nothing special about it. I much prefer todays characters more than the ones in this clip. But yet everyone wants to go back to the so-called glory days!

2009-2011 was certainly worse than 1995. 1995 the episodes are entertaining but to watch them back to back continuety and writing fly out the window. The glory days are the first 9 years up to Julie Martins death and Willis departure.

2009-2011 episodes were all boring bar a couple.

I started watching around 1993 so I technically missed the glory days that you mention but I do remember it being on before that. I do remember Julie dying which was a shame she would be a great character today, a snarky sister for Paul.

2009-10-11-12-early 13 were the worst IMO, just so boring with only the odd interesting event to spice things up. Things took a turn for the better around the time that Sarah Beaumont returned. I will always remember that as I was barely watching by that point and no longer commenting on the forum, but then suddenly there was a lot of interest and I joined again.

I have to say it got boring for me till the last 3 or 4 months ago, I stopped watching for a long while and tuned back in when Mason had gone and starting getting more into it. It still far from great but much improved.

IMO for many years neighbours was awful then once Izzy Hoyland come into it the show had some of the best ever years and as soon as she left the show went down the toilet again. They sometimes say nobody is bigger than the show well for me Izzys time on the show she was biggest thing about the show. I've never really watched it properly since she left. I remember like a few episodes after she left Pepper, frazer and Rosie came into it and that's when the show started to rot again.

I didn't watch Neighbours religiously in the 90s but I dipped in and out over the years and I do remember 1995 being SOOO boring. It was bland and conservative and middle-class.

That Colin guy... my memory is telling me that he played identical twins? And wan't one of them gay, or am I getting confused with someone else?

Was 1995 the year of Annalise and Mark, who ditched her at the alter to become a priest? If so, I liked that story, even though many apparently didn't. If that was 1995, then it's the only thing that stands out to me.

When people say they want Neighbours to be like the glory days again, I never really know what they mean. 80s style Neighbours wouldn't stand up in today's modern TV world, and the 90s day-to-day episodes would be considered boring today, given that they weren't always pact full of drama. IMO, 2004 is the only year that would work today, as it had a lot going on with interesting characters mixing it up.
