Just look how Matt Smith's hand is actually impaled in this image for Journey to the Centre of the Tardis...

Oh, yeah, there's a lot of ropey photoshop collages, and I suspect that photo's been tampered with at least a little bit, but it looks like Jenna-Louise Coleman, for whatever it's worth, is actually casting a shadow on the TARDIS console.

That might be photoshopped in, too! But if it is, it's better than their usual efforts - you quite rightly point out their JttCotT work. Don't know if Capaldi was actually on set, looks like the shadows are coming from a different direction, but I suspect Jenna was actually there, and that this is an actual photo rather than a collage - albeit one with slightly unusual lighting / colour.

It most certainly is. Neither of them actually fit into the background properly and are both lit completely differently. It looks like two different promo images superimposed over a CGI background. There's also something a bit weird going on with the top of one of Capaldi's arms.

I suspect they won't. Moffat never does emotional fallout of any kind. It just doesn't interest him. He said he added some stuff about Clara dealing with her previous lives but took it out because he didn't think people would be interested. I'd like to see how the Doctor deals with the idea that he's travelling again after spending nearly half his life in a single town but I'm not holding my breath alas.

It feels too big for even Moffat to ignore. Everything we have seen so far is in The Doctor's distant past.

'Deep Breath' has bonus meaning for those who have followed the spoilers & information thread!

Spoiler
It's believed that Episode 1 is set around a starship crash in the Thames in Victorian times, filled with killer droids. Unspecified whether they are indeed the Clockwork Droids of Series 2 - but it's a possibility given the writer.

I like to think this means Capaldi will be taking an action dive in to the Thames. But I doubt it

I hope so but I thought that about what happened to Amy (kidnapped, imprisoned, giving birth, losing her daughter) and Clara living hundreds of lives but they were deemed unimportant (despite how obviously significant they are to the characters) so I'm not holding my breath.

The emotional impact of episode 1 appears to be
Spoiler
Clara wondering whether she should trust this new Doctor only to eventually be soothed by 11's goodbye phonecall
.

Some plot holes I'm willing to ignore for Capaldi - Man of Action

You do know, eventually, there is a way of making things right and that may happen or has that moment happened already but until then shall we carry on.

Definitely looks like they have made tweaks to the console room.

Apart from the red lighting in place of the old green lighting in the time rotor and below.... there seems to be bookshelves and books around the top of the console room now.

Look closely at the promo pic and you can clearly see new shelving and books up there.

"Be my pal" I dont get this bit, even in the context of the next phrase, anyone?

"Am I a good man?" So, the Doctor is extra screwy because of the reset, he doesn't evem know if he is a good man or not

And Clara's line, lives upto what we knew about "the phonecall" she's gonna get

sigh, reading too much into just 15 seconds already
Spoiler
I'm assuming Clara's line is directed to the paternoster gang

im assuming Deep Breath probably has a double meaning right? The one mentioned in the thread, but also taking a deep breath before trying to deal with thid big change, sounds like both the Doctor and Clara need to take a deep breath

finally, I dont think he is some kind of dark doctor, just an unsure ruffled doc, a bit like six after the effects of t he poison on 5, but perhaps not so aggressive (!)

Did they speed up the speech? It sounded fast in my opinion

It's definitely 'am I good man' not 'am I a good man'. The subtitles miss out the 'a' too. Maybe just chopped up speech? Bit odd though.

I truly hope that the likely lack of a 13th episode means we get a few more minutes for stories that generally need it. A two-part finale is a step in the right direction, if the final episode itself needs a five-ten minute extension, I really hope they give it rather than pandering to BBC America's commercialism.

Excited though! ”

The BBC Facebook post also says "am I good man", I thought it was a typo but now I'm not so sure!

But I hope PC is easier to understand than on this clip, I had to listen 3 times to decipher what he was saying!

I know, it's terrible that the production team didn't actually destroy the shard and have Matt ride the wreckage down to the ground to get that promotional shot. What is the world coming to?

Must be another indicator that Moffat Must Be Sacked Now To Save Doctor Who (tm).

When he says "Be my pal, am I good man?" what h e is saying is "be my friend and tell me am I a good man?" The implication is that s Clara is his friend she will tell him the truth and he wants an honest opinion.
