So it was revealed tonight Linda's dad died when she was 15 and she got pregnant 3 months later with Lee. It was also mentioned that Lee was planned as Mick and Linda both wanted a family. So presumably Nancy was born when Linda was 18 and she had Johnny when she was 20? This would mean Linda is now 38/39 a year or maybe a bit less older than Mick who we know is 37, maybe going on 38. I was always curious about when they had ther kids and loved finally finding out Mick and Linda's history tonight. The actors who play Linda and Stan were also excellent tonight

Mick must have been one mature 14 year old the to decide that he wanted a family. Because he was definitely 14 years old around the time of Lee's birth.

It's starting to make a lot more sense now, Lee would have been born when Linda was 16 and Mick was 15/16, so yeah, Nancy when they were 18 and Johnny at 20 and then Shirley fell pregnant at 13 and had Mick at 14. I think Mick must be about 37, almost 38 if Sylvie walked out 37 years ago when Mick was almost 1.
Interesting that Lee was planned by Mick and Linda. Loving seeing all of the Carter histories coming together.
Do we know when Jimbo, Dean and Carly were supposedly born?

That sounds so unrealistic knowing their characters . They should have hired older actors to play Mick and Linda

Or made the kids slightly younger. The actors that play Johnny, Nancy and Lee could easily pass for younger.

Jimbo was born in 1981 and died in 2002 (2007 episode - Shirley told Ronnie "I lost my little boy 5 years ago"), Carly was born in 1984 and Dean was born in 1987. Kevin and Shirley divorced in 1989.

Brilliant, thanks.

Young births are certainly not unheard of

It's a bit messed up with the ages Mick had to be 14 for Lee's birth as his 37 as established, Linda said to Sharon she been with him since she was 14, so rather she was a year older then him or just said 15 as Shirley was 14 when she had Mick, tbh I think they made a mistake making all kids so close in age, at least one should of been younger.

Johnny and Nancy could of worked as 18 year old twins and Lee as age 20.

A bit far fetched to think a 14 year old and 15 year old plan to have a baby

Jimbo actually died in 2001 not 2002. Shirley must have got it wrong, which is understandable considering she wasnt around when he died. On the 27th April 2006 the Wicks family marked the fifth anniversary of his death. The following year Kevin and Denise married on the 27th April 2007 and it was again mentioned this was the sixth anniversary of his death.

This. Why would they?? And considering Lee,Nancy and Johnny are only 2 years apart in age respectively, it seems at 14/15 they planned to have a family

Already worked this out a few weeks ago

but the fact they had decided themselves to have a family at that age just isn't right in my opinion.

It makes more sense now we know the ages but I do think they should of made the kids younger or just had Nancy and Johnny..
They has been so much emphasis that Mick and Linda have only been with each other and got together young so I can see and affair on the offing, maybe not a physical one but I can see maybe an emotional affair or something, this is EastEnders after all. They are making us care about Mick and Linda as a couple, can only spell trouble, I'm cool with it, I love a bit of drama!

No but EastEnders is obsessed with young/underage parents.

Sadly, if you switch on Jeremy Kyle or other nonsense programs like that, you'll find quite a lot of kids who purposely set out to have kids for one reason or another. Some of them just want a family to love - ones who've been in care or had parents die, for example - while others think that having a baby will solve all their problems.

It happens.

I was going to say pretty much this. At 14 and 15, you can be in a very idealistic state of mind and during your "first love" can make decisions that, if left until you were older, you wouldn't ever make in a million years.

Agreed. Underage And Pregnant was another tv show where, for all the ones who had fallen pregnant accidently, there were just as many who became pregnant on purpose & many of those cases were children who had lost parents, grown up in care or from broken homes who believed that having their own child to love would be the answer to their prayers. It's not an exclusive concept to teen pregnancy either. In One Born Every Minute there are often people on there who talk about how their desire for a child came from the reasons listed below. I'm not saying that it's right & I often worry for the children in those scenarios, but it happens.
