I think context is the answer.
Yes Toya was guilty of saying bad things in there, I don't deny that.
But watching her in her interview and on BOTS we see her saying similar things, but...we are seeing a tongue in cheek reaction to what she just said as she's giggling away. You see it in context.

Now in a HL show, if they are just showing her say confrontational things and then cutting it right there because they want to focus on negative drama, then that tongue in cheek nature where she may laugh about it afterwards is completely lost through the editing.
Even if she was genuinely nasty at times, what doesn't get shown is still going to influence how they look.
