Deep breath seems like a strange title

now im not knocking it as it seems like it will be relevant when the episode airs but i was thinking the series 8 opener would have a title that would refer to 12 directly, i always liked the idea of it being called The Rise of the Doctor.

what are your thoughts on the title?

It does make me wonder about what sort of phonecall from
Spoiler
the 11th Doctor
the 12th Doctor is going to receive?

It's a very weird name, and very unlike a Doctor Who title - "The X of Y" or "A of the Z" - but it's not like Steven Moffat's not got form for weird titles. The Bells of Saint John was very clever but very left-field. River's Run was curious. And I think he was the first writer to put "The Doctor" into an episode title with The Doctor Dances. Brand new format, that he's very much run with.

I quite like that we're getting funny titles. As you say, I suspect it'll make perfect sense when it airs, and until then, it's intriguing.

I hope the episode takes my breath away!

I like it. Take a 'Deep Breath' and hold on tight because we're in for one hell of a ride.

To this day i still don't get what that title means, even though i love the episode. it was like when they announce the Lets Kills Hitler title, my first thought was "seriously moffats atchully going to have someone kill hitler" and its only when the episode aired that i understood that it was what melody said

Having no idea what the word Police means The Monks refer to the TARDIS as St John's Box (from the St John's Ambulance sticker on the door).

When the TARDIS phone starts ringing the Monks report to the Doctor that the Bells of St John are ringing.

It's relating to the telephone call to the TARDIS at the start of the episode.

'Deep Breath' is an interesting title. It's certainly what all us fans take when watching a Doctor's debut. Worked out rather well for me last time. Bring it on.

Edit: Corwin beat me to it!

Seems weird, but I'll wait until I see the episode before I decide whether I like it or not.
It's still not as strange as "Let's Kill Hitler" which is a title I've never liked.

I always trust the Moff for a strange title to have a clever meaning. Sometimes two or three clever meanings.

I think it's to do with the St John's Ambulance phone attached to the Tardis, which rings at the beginning.

River's Run was actually a working title for Forest of the Dead.

It became Forest of The Dead rather late on. River's Run was its original title for quite a while.

what are your thoughts on the title?”

I kind of got the impression It was reffering to the doctor himself. His ongoing flow of life has been interrupted by a regeneration, but now it's time for him, as always, to get over it, take a deep breath and seek out new adventures. That's my take anyway.

To be honest a clever title means nothing to me. Just say what the episode is. I am sure it doesn't get more viewers for having a discrete or cryptic title.

Its like when they revealed the title "The Name of the Doctor" and everyone thought as it is the 50 yr anniversary of the show they would finally say his true "name" but when it aired the title was to do with the War Dr
