Given their repeated failure to make it past the R16 game this reverse will carry an extra sting for Mexico.
Thought Mexico would do well, which they did up to a point. But once the Dutch got into the shadows they gave it their all.

Most of the teams who have tried to shut up shop do seem to have paid for it with defeat though.

Think there is definitely something in that.
I don't think any remaining match at the world cup is a dead cert, so they'll need to recover their energy and treat the next game as seriously as any, if they want to get to the semis.

They basically gave the midfield to the Dutch and tried to defend 25 years in front of their goal. The outcome was inevitable.
Would imagine those conditions may have taken something out of the dutch
