Well, that's the news pushed back. I'm dreading the void when this tournament ends.

The goal tally has now matched SA 2010.

The Costa Rica subs were all getting ready to celebrate on the touchline just a few moments ago.

You'd have to expect Greece to get a winner in extra-time.

Extra time it is!

Think 1-1 was a fair reflection of the match to be honest.

Have to say that it did come to life eventually.

Costa Rica must surely try and play for penalties now.

Due to me nodding off for most of the first half, I'm going to pretend this is the 2nd half coming up.

Now there's a match I didn't need another half an hour of. But it should be bit more exciting. now

Costa Rica brought this on themselves.
I don't know why they didn't just try and keep possession instead of booting hopeful balls upfield and giving the ball back to them.

I like the Greeks........

With a team that's only slighty better than England they get through the games and get results

it's not all about fancy dannery.........

Good old Greece gonna bore the life outta the other teams to win the tournament
I'd rather bore everyone and win than play attacking football and lose.

They did, and wasted time on top of that, but there is only so far you can go and they got punished for it, I'm not surprised, with 20 minutes to go and a 10 man team, it's difficult to defend really.

Didn't want to see that tbh.

Greece have been more negative with their "offence" than Costa Rica has been with their defence down a man. Gutted for the Ticas.
How can you be negative with your offence? I know what you mean though, they have lacked quality in offence, even though they have tried to play a more attacking game than they would usually play. They can be frustrating to watch.

Mexicans did the same against the Dutch, don't know why teams realise that tactics such as this just loses games...

Credit to Greece. They may be as dull as dishwater to watch but my god, they know how to finish a game.

Surely even Greece have to go for it against 10 men. As we're going into extra time I think we deserve the drama of penalties for having to sit through 90 minutes of such dross.

Was really hoping for Costa Rica to hold out there but knew they were doomed as soon as the commentator said they were looking likely to be the team facing Holland next. Surely there's only going to be one winner now.

Yep. A lot of naïve teams at this WC. Ecuador with 30 seconds to go (92:30 precisely) against Switzerland instead of closing it out went gung ho with entire team going for the win at 1-1, got caught on the break and lost 2-1 with the last kick of the game. Brainless and that's why they're out.

Okay, Greece have been awful to watch for years, but their country is in the doldrums, would be amazing for the country if they won the World Cup.

Just might kill off the love of the game in the rest of the world though....

The second sentence is more important than the first.

Is there any way the Costa Ricans can create any chances in extra time?

It was bad enough when they bored everyone to death in winning the Euros.
