Columbia, the only truly quality side they've faced, had little trouble dispatching them. Their other matches included a scoreless draw against Japan and late win on a PK against Ivory Coast. Enough to sqeak through but hardly scintillating stuff. Quite possibly the least impressive team to advance to the quarters if they do so.
I didn't say they were great did I? At least they got this far which is more than I could say about certain other teams.

Never say die attitude? It's the knock out stages and they're up a man for the better part of the 2nd half! Would any other team be any different?
They've made a habit of it. Hell, they won the Euros! That's more than England have done lately!

Not intentionally
Fair enough.

I think Costa Rica's biggest problem was that, like so many teams, they sat back after they scored and it just doesn't work most of the time. They're just lucky Greece don't have any quality finishers in the squad, otherwise they could easily be 2 or 3 goals down.

That was a decade ago. This Greek team isn't on patch on the 04 Greece team.

Hands up, who feared the worst when the Greeks broke 5 against 2 there?

And Campbell nearly breaking free at the other end - this is a thrilling period of extra time.

We've seen quite a few 5 on 2 counters messed up in the WC.

Jesus, 5 against 2, just needed a quality pass and it would have been easy but again zero quality on show.

Jesus, 5 v 2........they should have wrapped that up.
Not being used to those situations, they clearly panicked!

Erm, you did notice that they went down a man not long after they scored? That's a major difference between this match at the earlier Mexico-Netherlands match.

Greece were fortunate to avoid a pk after the handball in the area as well.

I don't think the locals are too enamoured with Greece, loud boos when they have the ball.
