The BIG Carter storyline (Speculation)
I am not sure if Mick being Shirley's so is the big Carter SL or if it is something else.
Something struck me watching Friday night's episode though (apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere, I have not seen it). What if Stan is Linda's real father????? ![]() The reasons I think it might be that are: 1. I think Linda's mother will come into it soon. 2. The way Stan talked about John and Elaine being in love was a bit out of character for him. 3. It would have HUGE implications for all the Carters. 4. It could be a way of Shirley having to tell Mick he is her son as he would think that he is married to his half-sister . Bad enough that he would be married to his half aunt![]() ![]() 5. Shirley and Linda would be half sisters!! I know it's probably totally implausible and I'm nowhere near the truth but if it WAS true it would be HUGE. What do people think??? |

I really don't think another melodramatic reveal would serve the Carter's much. They're in danger on straying into branning territory as is.
Sigh. Why can't families be more like the watts where the melodrama comes from the characters and not contrived reveal scenarios and plot-lines. |

What is it with everyone and this love of incest and rape on this forum?! It's actually quite worrying.
The Shirley/Mick dynamic will be enough drama for the Carters imo as it affects each one of them, will no doubt be the catalyst for Sylvie and Andy's arrivals and change the entire dynamic of the family. I'm looking forward to the reveal. |

Oh no deffo not
That scene with Linda and Stan was brilliant and I loved we saw that intimate moment with them. I didn't see it as anything more, but for us understand why Linda is why she is and that Stan is understanding and had empathy for her. |

Agree. Leave rape to the slaters (I know bad me) and incest to the watts.
The Shirley reveal will be drama enough - doubt the writers will want anything detracting from it. If they have too many 'big' reveals in one family it would be too much, the Mick reveal, if executed and written well will provide more than enough drama. |

It's not that I WANT that to be the case, it just struck me that it MIGHT be the case. |
