I thought that when they axed the guy who played Brian, it was to open up storylines for Julie but things have been really quiet for her since. Maybe that was just an excuse to get rid of the actor. Has anyone heard of a story in the pipeline for her?

She has come back from maternity leave I believe so is being settled back in. I liked Brian Packham. Remove him as Head teacher and the correct would have been fine.Amazing real life name!

I liked Brian, he was good with Julie and it made sense to have a teacher in the street when so many kids attend Bessie St. Now, Julie doesn't seem to do anything other than interfere with other peoples rlationships

Still don't see her as a Grimshaw.

I was sorry when they axed Brian as he acted well with Julie. They were 'ordinary' people, and we need those in the street as background to the more exciting characters.

I agree.
i liked Brian and Julie, and as you say they were ordinary characters, sadly those types of characters arent thought of important, even as fillers, Kirk was like that for years until Beth came along and made him good again.

All soaps need ordinary characters to fill scenes, befriend other characters and provide the occasional laugh, HO seems to be the only soap without those type of characters.

I would rather have Brian than Julie.
Im finding Julie boring now and seriously annoying

They should send Julie and Eileen on holiday together, that could bring a few funny moments to the screens. They should go to blackpool with a few of the other girls for a break, if Gail went too, could be some amazing stuff.

Julie, Eileen, Gail and Liz on holiday in Blackpool together; that would make for a great storyline.

Technically she's not a Grimshaw, and never has been. Her surname was Jones according to Wikipedia.

I didn't mean it in that sense I meant as a family unit I don't think she fits into the Grimshaws at all.

Really, interfering more like when she hounded Tyrone Dobbs over his "treatment" of Kirsty Soames. She loves the drama!

Nice? She's one big drip always poking her nose in other people's business. I cheered when Kirsty gave her a slap.

Julie has had great potential but the writers like a few others have let her down. She came in as a potential girlfriend to Kirk like a few others but it didn't last. They realised she had potential, and kept her on. The Eileen/Paula/Julie/Colin story was fantastic and really well done. It was quite powerful and character driven.

But since then its all been a bit messy. Her and Brian were a great couple. And the miscarriage story was beautifully told. And it was nice to see them set up home together. But getting rid of him was a mistake, as was the way they wrote Julie during the Kirsty story. Julie had known Fiz a long time and she was her first friend on the street and she just turned on her? Unbelievable. Now that Brian has gone, Julie barely interacts with the Grimshaws and has little solid connections.

Lets see more Eileen and Julie, reunite her and Brian, give her a pet to fill her nurturing side and give her some solid friendships. I think a wee friendship group of Julie, Anna and Mary might be quite lovely to watch.

OMG I just saw Julie Carp bare(no really) naked having sex!

I'm scared for life, thank god Brian Packham wasn't the man in question!

Just watching something she was in a few years ago... was very shocked!

Getting rid of Brian was a huge mistake as they have nothing to with Julie now. Julie has done very little in the 6 months since Brian left- apart from taking in Dennis and Marcus and be kind to Todd.

She can be very irritating now, a pity as she use to be a breath of fresh air.

I've said for years that they should put Julie with Kevin Webster. She would give him a great boost as a character (especially since his absence) and there could be some lovely moments between Sophie and Julie and comedy with Sally and Julie.
