Makes a change, it's usually presented as the other way round.

I could well believe him....I doubt the Dutch would put any member of the England team in their starting XI

Marton ONeill was very scathing (probably not the right word) about LVG. Do you reckon he fancied the Man U gig?

Sort of "i did this at leicester, and brian did it at Forest."

The arrogant Dutch were almost out of the World Cup today. Another Robben dive put them through. Based on that performance a few England players could stake their claim in that team.

I doubt that very much.

Holland beat a very good unbeaten Mexico side in temperatures of 38 degrees.

This Holland team would play us off the pitch.

Netherlands played better than a creditable Mexico, and were banging on the door towards the end. England would have struggled....particularly in those conditions.

Holland got extremely lucky today. Robben is carrying them as a team and has even admitted diving.

I don't get it- why just randomly attack the England squad? Most people know Holland are a better team. Very strange. Makes me think he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

I don't understand why RvP came off early.

I thought once they got the equalizer, the best Mexico would do was get to pens.

Well, the guy has a sense of humour, you've got to give him that.

If van Gaal thinks the current Dutch goalkeeper is better than any in the current England squad then he must be spending too much time in the Amsterdam coffeeshops.

The Dutch goalkeeper looks suspect to me as well. Surprised he's ahead of Krul.

The Dutch have constantly through the years out performed England.

Yes expect for when they failed to qualify for the 2002 World Cup...

Guess who the manager was then..

Netherlands main problem over the years has been a split camp - atm they seem very united.

This Dutch team are far from special. Granted, they're better than England, but take out RVP and Robben and you're looking at a pretty ordinary bunch of players there, particularly at the back.

And I'm also pretty sure that van Gaal wouldn't say no to Hart or Cahill for his first XI either if he could use them.

Only Fools and Horses on the big screen? Someone playing the spoons?

You really should start actually finishing sentences with information.

I'm impressed you can remember. I've been having flashbacks since I was there in the early 90s - at least I think it is me having flashbacks

But he's proving all though he doesn't have 11 "all stars" he has a great team, and knows how to play them and when to use his subs. Holland yesterday just never gave up, if that was England with 2 mins of normal time left, they would of sat back and taken it to extra time.

To be fair Robyn had been brought down twice in the box already, and jumped another 2 footed tackle, which he could of ran at and been brought down again, so a penalty was probably coming.

I might be wrong, but I would guess he was asked directly by an English journalist. I doubt he randomly just choose England to castigate.

This is quite possibly the best post that I've ever seen on this forum.

Bravo, sir.

I think Robben is a terrific player ... but he is also a self-confessed cheat, not that anyone who saw him playing for Chelsea, never mind now, needed his confession to know that. This is why he will never be regarded in the same way as, for instance, Messi or just about any of the great players past and present; Robben too often leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
