don't think we'll be seeing Giroud starting in the QF....Griezmann is a terrific little player.

Lets hope Deschamps sees the difference that Griezmann on the left and Benzema through the middle made. They've got to start like that against Germany(/Algeria).

Good, disciplined performance from France, with Deschamps demonstrating a good touch with his substitution, tuning into this forum. Les Bleus are certainly contenders. Should be a good contest against Algeria, considering the history between those countries,

There it is, France deservedly progress to the quarter finals.

Nigeria not disgraced by any means but the French ultimately had that extra ability which edged them out.

A goalkeeping error and an own goal, but even so there was only one team in it in the last quarter.

Deserved win for France in the end, but a good showing from the Nigerians.

Nigeria can have no complaints - they put in a shift but when France went for it they had no response. The "dark chevals" trot on.

Matuidi could easily have got a red. Would have been a different game then. That aside, France deserved to through. Nigeria shaded it in the first half for me but France always had that extra last third quality, especially once Giroud went off. Meanwhile Nigeria's final ball was too often sloppy and wasteful.

The Germans don't really think of England as a grudge match. It's the Dutch who are their big rivals.

Ok...but at a World Cup though And imagine England had been done like France were by the Dutch ref in 1982 (and Schumacher - worst foul I've ever seen) and then were unlucky in 86 with a freekick that wasn't and their keeper made his only mistake. Oh and Battiston also missed a cast iron chance to level.
