What an great header shame he didn't hold his run. Good to see Algeria playing the football that got them to this stage.

A France vs Algeria would be an interesting quarter final. Certainly on the streets of Paris.

Germans are sitting ducks at the moment.

Again the wrong option seemed to be chosen there but he wasn't far away with his angled shot.

You know the Algerians are going to lose now after all these wasted chances.

Brilliant football again from the Algerians.

They need to make one of these chances count.

Germany need to stretch itself, as Algeria has the edge, and won't be long before Algeria score!

Ozil reminding us what a lazy player he is.

Being a left footer he should have went for the near side. Would have been very difficult to score in the far side from that position and a left footed shot.

Can Algeria play this well for the remaining 70 minutes? Can Germany play this badly for the remaining 70 minutes?

This is awful from the Germans, misplaced passes and shoddy defending.

If Algeria keep this up without scoring, they might tire and let Germany in. Germany have been nervous so far.

Algeria really should be at least 2 up. Dare I say if they had a Klose they would be.

Algeria are looking by far the more dangerous side so far.

This is lovely football from Algeria.

The way in which the players look so comfortable on the ball in particular is very impressive to watch.

Germany, by contrast, look very uncertain.

I know it's early but this match is reminding me of when Germany lost to Bulgaria in the quarter finals of USA '94.

why are germany playing with 4 centre backs, they have a full back in midfield and one on the bench, why not play them there?

Agree, as I've seen Germany play better than this. Time they pulled up their socks and got down to it

Algeria are unrecognisable from the team that played in 2010 in that dire game with England.
