Wonderful effort by Algeria, clearly demonstrating their right to be contesting this match.

Those missed opportunities could come back and haunt the Algerians. The Germans won't be as forgiving when those chances fall to them.

Mertesacker positively lumbering out there.

Slimani outpaced him there like it was the easiest thing in the world.

Germany have Bruce Grobbelaar in goal tonight. Algeria's pace is bothering them.

Do Germany even want to get through to the game against France? Algeria are walking all over them right now.

Saw this in the French game earlier Benzema wide left they were average put through middle with a natural wide man and bang 2 goals, other chances and through. Lahm is 1 of the best full backs (either side) in the world and he's wasted in midfield. Its not as though Germany lack midfielders Khedira on the bench if they fancy another 1 on the pitch.

One criticism of the Algerians has to be that although they can quickly break they do seem to panic and not know what to do when it happens.

It's a bit like Greece with that 5-on-2 break last night; your Frances and Germanys would have just passed that into the net but they just faffed about and gave Costa Rica time to recover.

Free kick....but they kinda wasted that break. They might still get a reward here.

If Algeria could make up their mind when they get near the penalty area they might be dangerous.

That was a stupid thing to do! Giving Algeria more chances of scoring!

Wasted opportunity from the Algerians then... what has happened to the Algerian player's head though? He has a bandage on it, looks pretty sore!

Germany's defence is terrifying and not in a good way. Move Lahm back in there.

Messi still the only player with a decent free kick in the tournament.

The Swiss one wasn't great although a goal's a goal.

Lovely football from Algeria. They welcome the ball like a lover. Other teams treat it like a hot potato......as Muller goes close.

Can't let Thomas Muller sneak in ahead of you like that.
