Just listening to Talksport as I was reading your post and it seems some are coming round to the view you have. I don't want to believe it as it makes a mockery of the most amazing event on earth but it simply can't be overlooked just how many times the host nations get to the later rounds. South Africa got knocked out last time out in fairness but many people said that this effected the World Cup as many South Africans lost interest after their elimination. They were a nation not expected to do well so the thought of Brazil going out early would have worried FIFA without a doubt. I hope Brazil reaching the Semi Final is seen as 'enough' by the authorities.

Like you said it's near impossible to fix a match or a tournament but you can do many things to nudge teams over the line. A team with quality (which Brazil have despite not being an outstanding side) will take advantage of these breaks. That said the South Korea v Italy game shows just how blatant these things can be

Brazil winning this would leave a sick taste in many peoples mouths and the Germans will get the support of most neutrals on Tuesday. It's not an anti-Brazil thing, it's simply due to the way they have played and the things that have gone in their favour throughout the tournament
If Germany win mark my words they wont be a final next Sunday to play in as the riots would destroy the country and Maracana.

Must be lucky he wasn't paralysed! It did look dangerous, the way Zuniga flew into the back of him knee-first. I wish him a speed recovery.
Were you watching the game live? It was a challenge you see a hundred times in a game and the fouled player usually just gets up. Yes it was bad under slow motion but at the time none of the people I was watching with felt that it was deliberate or as bad as it turned out.
As a nurse of over 30 years, I would suggest that the fracture occurred due to some problems with Neymar's body - perhaps too much football/exercise when he was young causing a weaker bone formation. I really would not expect a young healthy person to break a vertebrae with that collision and fall.

As for Brazil, it would be a farce if they won this trophy, they use diving and fouling as their main tactics ( as we used to expect from the Argentinians) and are not punished for it. There is no flow to their play and their defence is poor.
Anyone but Brazil to win it for me.

Yes, I said this right at the beginning. Social rest could become so bad with the final being the focus of it all that there's a possibility you couldn't play the final.

Oh well shall we just give them the trophy now cause we don't want fans to riot?

They haven't won the World Cup since 2002 so are you saying they didn't riot in 2006 & 2010 because it wasn't in their own back yard!

I think you are over reacting and need to get out more personally!!

This world cup is not wanted by many Brazilians. All the Pre world cup riots have only stopped because they have been promised that Brazil will win. If they don't all the pre-world cup riots and strikes will return( and Fifa knows this) in an instant and if happens next week the remaining three matches would be in danger especially the second semi because of safety concerns. Apparently all the stadium stewards are rumoured to considering the strike if the Presidents promise does not come true.

And a lot of Brazilians are probably peace loving citizens!

The whole of Brazil will not riot and I'm sure the small number of people that do will be controlled by the police authority

While the Majority are I think they are enough rioters to cause serious disruption( as apparently 1 million people protested last year during the confederation cup and numbers could be much higher this time) like the Arab Spring would. Plus strikes which are a greater threat than riots.

Well we will have to wait and see!!

I for one can not wait for Brazil to be knocked out - they simply are not good enough!

And I very much doubt the stewards will want to lose a days pay by striking! (If they get paid that is)!

Have you seen the Brazilian police in action? Backed up by the army they would make the rioters back down pretty quickly. The world would be watching unlike the Confederation cup.
To compare a non Brazil final with the Arab Spring is just ridiculous

I am not sure with the amount of anger apparent that eve they could handle it. Especially as the Police wont want to be seen as extremely heavy handed as that would backfire press wise both in and out of Brazil and further damage the presidents reputation.
I think the Final is at less threat through as each round goes on because incidents between police and protestors have less time frame through
