Anyone remember Ade's spoof heavy metal group 'Bad news'. In the eighties. Two tv shows and and album.
Much better rock band spoof than Spinal tap, imo(and thats saying something). also had Rik Mayall and Nigel Planer

find some clips of their 'music' here

be warned their version of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' should only be listened to when very out of it

I love the bit where 'Vim' (Ade) tells the reporter that bad news 'arent really Heavy metal, more new romantic' and Den (Nigel Planer) gets upset and threatens to leave the band cos 'the advert said heavy metal'. and Vim relents and tells him 'Ok, we're heavy metal, heavy metal, Heavy F^&*ing metal!'.
and the Fight between Vim and Den over who is going to use the marshall stack in the studio.
actually its all funny.

I believe they actually played (as bad news) at Donnington rock festival as well?

Yeah not exactly a new discovery going off what lenny said he had another band also. Now Edith she is a new discovery and lovely she is too. He is funny but would much prefer a winner who wasn't a comedian you can only take a laugh so far.
