Jerky movement on Blu-ray extras
I have a Sony BDP-S480 Blu-ray player and a Sony Bravia 40EX503 TV and I've noticed a problem with some Blu-ray extras. While the movies play fine, the motion on some of the extra featurettes is slightly jerky as if a frame or two has been missed in some places. Yet they look OK on frame advance or slow motion playback. I first noticed this on the documentary with the film Dead Of Night and now I'm noticing it on other discs too, such as Possession. I've tried changing a few of the settings which I think might be relevant but can't fix the problem.
Has anyone else had a similar problem or found a solution? |

It is most likely because the extras were filmed at 24 frames per second but are encoded on the disc at 60 frames per second (usually at 480i or 1080i resolution). Only the main feature is typically encoded at 24fps on Blu-ray.
