Best Call Blocking App for Android
HI all,
I've been getting a lot of nuisance calls from PPI company's and decided i need a blocking app. Can anyone recommend one. I've had a look on google play but they all seem to have good and bad reviews. One review says you need to keep the number in your contacts for it to be blocked, another one says they have to reboot their phone after a number is blocked as the phone keeps vibrating. Any recommendations from anyone? |

I use blocker. No problems in 6 months. I tend to use the blacklist to stop any repeat offenders and switch to contacts only if I really don't want to be disturbed.
I also use quiet sleep at night (so that important calls get through but otherwise I don't get woken up). It will ring on 2nd or third attempt or for whitelist. |

Depending on which phone you have it might already have a call blocker built in to the dialer. My last 2 Samsung phones had it built in and worked fine.

I use an Android app called “Calls Blacklist” but I can only assume it works because I put numbers in the list and I don’t hear from them again but it could be their just not calling again.

I've got both Blacklist Plus and Call Blocker on my Android. I tend to use the latter though, even though my Samsung has a built in reject list - talk about belt and braces approach.

Thanks for the answers guys, i like the idea of blocking texts as well because, for some reason, i get a lot from ladbrokes. I'll start with one and see how i get on.
The phone is a Nexus 4 BTW, i've looked through it but i cant see a blacklist. My Desire had one although that may have been a feature of CM7. |

Only thing I needed to do with O2 was turn off the text notification that I'd had a call as the reject dumps it to voice mail, but they never leave a message obviously. |

If you select the number in your reject calls option it will just dump it every time these arseholes call, no extra software is needed. Works perfectly on my Samsung.

At least 2 of the pieces of software mentioned have block without voicemail modes. They pickup then immediately hang up. Therefore no annoying vmail.
