2016 - a time to celebrate England's 66 win?

2016 will mark 50 years since England won the World Cup. I wonder if the FA will celebrate this milestone with a specially commissioned statue or painting or something else.

I know we haven't done too well since 1966 but I feel 2016 - 50 years on from our last WC win - is worth celebrating. A new statue or mural at Wembley stadium would seem appropriate. Considering how much money is in the Premier League I'm sure the FA could find the money to fund the project.

England haven't stopped celebrating since 1966, might as well keep it up

Living off past glory - When will England create some new memories for us to savour?

I doubt that it will happen at all.

Frankly, football in this country is in a total shambles.

Probably when most of us are dead.

Thing is most people would rather see their club win something over England winning or just doing well in a major competition.

To be honest, I'm fed up of hearing about 1966.

It was 50 years ago, we won because we had home advantage and we've done absolutely sod all since.

It's time we started addressing the fact that we are looking less and less likely to repeat that victory.

We should leave it as a thing from history. Home country wins tournament in its own country.

I strongly believe its this win that makes so many people think England are better than they really are.

Nobody should be ashamed of celebrating past success.
