Wife would like a new phone which can take photos and a screen big enough to show them on but leaves it in her handbag for days/weeks at a time and expects it to work when she switches it on. Any suggestions?

Yes. educate her on the thing they call a phone charger and stop expecting miraclesand what's the point of having a smart phone in you're bag just to take it out once every couple of weeks to take a photo?

There are some options however, most things tend to be touchscreen these days (which even I find annoying).

That said I have just looked at Carphone's website and there are several to choose from.

Nokia 220

Nokia 206

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/pho...lourCode=BLACK

Both of those have long battery life upto 15 hours talk time in each case.

Nokia Asha 210

Samsung Chat 357

http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/pho...ourCode=SILVER

The last two are admittedly qwerty keyboard based, but they both have cameras and long battery life. The bridge enough of the gap to allow WhatsApp to be installed on at least one of those devices.

If you can stretch to maybe 100 or so, you can get the Moto G, I know its smartphone and all, however it has exceptionally good battery life. My parents upgraded to it some months back and they regularly get 2-4 days out of one charge. Admittedly they don't use their phones all that often, but the point remains if your Missus isn't expecting to use it that much then you could do far worse.

Really????

Was there any need for that obnoxious post?

He is only asking for advice not the re-incarnation of Mother Theresa!

Thankyou very much, Aye Up. Saintly should not be part of that other chap's name! Were all his 3147 posts so helpful? He needs to be taught some manners. He doesn't seem to have read the POSTING TIPS. Digital Spy should ban him.
'You're' is an abbreviation for 'you are'--should have been 'your'-- so he can't write proper English anyway!

Well how about you end it, and post something constructive towards the topic in question?

Back on topic

I have found two others.....

One is a touchscreen at a reasonable price, another is a a feature phone similar to what you asked for.

http://www.phones4u.co.uk/Cyan/p/NOK...ceType=HANDSET

http://www.phones4u.co.uk/Black/p/SO...ceType=HANDSET

Do you have a budget in mind? Honestly you can get some good handsets cheap these days, try and convince your lady friend to look at a smartphone.

I say all this as the Moto E is a fantastic price for the handset, it should come unlocked if you buy from Phones4U

Tbh you have got me hunting down a similar handset with long battery life ha!
