That goal shot gave some excitment. Great save though

Why couldn't Pat Nevin be the co-commentator? He's giving some good insights into the game on 5Live unlike Lawrenson.

3 strikers on the pitch now for France but at the moment they're going out with a whimper.

After all the great football France has played before today, its a shame they look to be going out with a whimper. At no real point have they built up momentum to suggest an equaliser was coming, and that's disappointing. Maybe Group E was for Easy after all.

There's still time, it only takes one mistake, one flash of brilliance, one moment of sheer stupidity, but this game should be over by now.

Giroud on, that will frighten the Germans.

Fouled Frenchman, but it wasn't flagged! In close-up you could see he was fouled!

Agree, he's very good, insightful and animated.

France looking like England.

Muller is Germany's best player by far in this WC. What England would do to produce a player like him.

4 minutes for the French to save themselves.

For a wobbly defence, Germany have put in some terrific, telling tackles.

What an donkey Giroud.

The Germans will be delighted. Hardly got out of 3rd gear and into the semis. They didn't have to expend as much energy as they might have thought, certainly compared to the Ghana or Algeria games. France were poor and as a neutral there was no action, drama or glut of goals.

Ok, well rather than catch fire that second half caught a cold. I have to accept it was a poor game in the end. No idea where the brilliant, fluent, attacking French of the earlier games disappeared to today. Credit to the Germans for a good defensive display though.
