Usually, I am a big Alfie Moon fan, but I have no sympathy for him - he keeps breaking and flaunting all these Market rules and then throwing a massive huff when he gets told off for it - you would think he would learn to follow the rules by now

Alfie should come off the market and do something else, this selling dodgy crap on the stall thing is silly and is doing him no favours at all!

And him going out unlicenced in Terry's cab was just stupid and he seems to think he's invincible for some reason.

I'm still rooting for him but he needs better story lines pronto!

Yes, that got me, the lack of sympathy towards Terry when he was worried about repercussions was just out of character

I hear there is a job vacancy for a redcoat at Butlins Minehead, he'd be perfect.

He was utterly despicable last night. He thinks the whole world owes him something

I'm with you on that, they are truly despicable. I wish the whole family had been axed rather than adding to their numbers.

I've got sympathy! Yes his decisions are a bit stupid but he is doing his best to help earn some extra money before his twins come along! Bless him, I don't think he's intelligent enough to think of money making schemes that are legit and will work

He wasted £70 on that ridiculous ice cream instead of spending it on his family and as aleks pointed out, he could easily have applied for a temporary food licence. Also other people like Terry have families as well. He is so self centred.

Agreed. If I had to choose one to stay, I'd pick Kat.

Sort of agree but at the very least, they shouldnt have reunited Kat and Alfie

Alfie let me down, to what he did to Roxy and that too at the alter, when he had warnings and doubt from earlier and Ronnie said to him dont do this if he has any doubts

Aw! I loved how you said bless him!

No, Alfie isn't the brightest button in the box is he? But he's got the cutest smile!

He's an idiot. Once again, lying to his wife about what he's doing with the money, essentially wasting it, because once again, he doesn't have the nouse to check the details - as Kat pointed out to him.

You and I both know that Fat Elvis is a bit dodgy, so why doesn't Alfie think to ask what the exact flavours are?

Alfie is hands down my most hated soap character. He thinks the world owes him a living, get a real job like everybody else instead of all those ridiculous scams. His arrogance when Aleks was reprimanding him was infuriating he totally believed Aleks was going to let him off and acted all shocked and offended when he didn't despite the fact he was blatantly breaking the rules and it's Aleks job specifically to prevent that sort of thing. The way he treat roxy as well showed what a thoroughly unpleasant man he is behind the mr nice guy facade.

He's done nothing to earn a decent honest living. If his family ends up on the streets its down to his own stupidity and laziness. The character is an absolute joke and it's clear the writers don't give a damn about him anymore. Just quit for ****'s sake!

Alfie is what the writers make him, I don't think Shane really has any say in what Alfie does and can only do his best with the script he is given and like it or lump it!

It makes me wonder if DTC really cares about Kat and Alfie at all, he said that he wanted to make them great again but all he and those pesky writers have done is turn the character into a caricature of his former self by having him doing random silly shite like he's been recently doing.

I DO feel sympathy for Alfie in the sense that he has become a figure of fun and his characterisation is slowly being de-constructed in front of my very eyes, like they're spoiling him on purpose to make the viewer dislike him.

I feel the deepest sympathy for Shane Richie though, if I were him I would throw the script in DTC's face and quit!

Maybe the writers are trying to force his hand. He quit in 2005 when he didn't like the direction of his character. I honestly think they'd get away with axing Alfie. He's only a big name because the actor was already a household name before he joined and the character was put in a relationship with Kat Slater. I won't hold my breath though.

This!

I too have been thinking that maybe TPTB are trying to force Shane to quit, I would definitely if I were him because he's been getting some drivel of late. I don't think they would axe him though because I think the BBC do like Shane but TPTB may be getting bored of him but don't want to axe him for fear of repercussions, plus there's Jessie to think of EE would risk losing her if they ditched Shane so they have to be very careful.

I am a fan of Shane as a personality as well as in EE and really love Alfie as a character but he should go if most of the story lines he's going to get are drivel!

To be fair, Kat and Alfie under DTC haven't been that bad. When you think back to the stuff Berkwood was churning out... I'm personally enjoying them, though I do wish Alfie would get work somewhere other than the market.

There should be some better scenes once the twins are born and the truth about Mick and Shirley is out. Alfie and Mick's friendship will probably be picked up again once Terry's gone. Kat/Alfie could play a role in getting Mick to give Shirley a chance, because of the Zoe thing. Plus Kat and Alfie's twins will probably bring Ian's grief at losing Lucy back to the forefront.

Alfie's just coming across as a useless, gormless prick. This current story line is doing him no favours.

It's funny when people call him Birkwood!

I agree that in comparison this new drivel is only half as bad as Birkwood's drivel.

Yes hopefully there will be plenty of good stuff coming along with the Bert and Ernie's birth and stuff (i wonder if TPTB decided on twin boys to lessen Ian's pain) and yes I would love to see Mick and Alfie become pally, especially as Mick has become pals with Ian and with Terry going Alfie will need a new mate.

I haven't been unimpressed with all the Alfie stuff though, I love it when he dressed up as a woman and it's hilarious when he slaps Terry on the head and he's got a great smile and sense of humour.

Maybe Mick could give Alfie some hours in the pub.
