I've been on EE 4G PAYG for about 8 months now but initially using a HTC One M7.

I can't recall too many problems with the HTC during that period but i've been having a load of issues since moving to an iPhone 5S a few weeks ago.

I'm constantly get "missed call" messages, but the phone never rings and i'm also getting text messages come through ages after they have been sent.

I've been doing some testing over the last few days and I can only put it down to enabling 4G on the iPhone.

If I switch off 4G I can call my number and calls come through no problem. But if I switch 4G on, let it connect to the network, then make another call to my number it goes straight through to voicemail.

I've tried this at both home and work, which are at different ends of the city to hopefully rule out a particular mast etc.

Google search indicates i'm not alone as I found this on the EE community: http://community.ee.co.uk/t5/The-EE-...alls/td-p/1276

Has anyone got any thoughts on what is going on here or what I can do to resolve?

What is the point of having 4G if in essence you can't use it? or have it switched permanently?

LTE is data only, so it could be something to do with having to run a dual system, 3G to receive calls and LTE to get your data.

So anyone know if it is LTE that prompts an incoming call or it it 3G that does the initial handshake?

It should fall back to 3G.

LTE is packet based and cannot support circuit switched calls. So CSFB (Circuit Switched Fall Back) is implemented when a call is made/received. How it works is that when a circuit switched call is incoming then it sends a service request to the network for the device to drop down to 3G/2G. LTE will remain idle until the call is completed.

Can the OP try another phone in the same area? As that will rule out if it's a network problem or a handset problem.

That's was my next plan....... but I don't have another 4G phone to hand at the moment.

Same problem here, EE were completely useless so I've just had to disable LTE.

Not my phone as my Three 4G sim works fine in the same phone, and the issue occurs wherever I am so it can't be an area thing....

Any friend on EE or EE store near you? Maybe try there.

It does seem like it could be a network and handset issue to be honest. Have you tried resetting the network profile on the iPhone? I doubt it'll do anything tbh but i'd try that.

Does anyone know, according to this thread and the linked thread on the EE website, why this problem of missed calls and delayed SMS on EE 4G seems to be limited to the iPhones and Galaxy S4?

Thing is for me it's not my phone as my Three 4G SIM works fine, trying to get my contract dropped too cause of this, as I'm paying for a 4G contract which technically I can't use.
