I think that is the intention yes. Certainly the soap magazine articles are all using terms like Nick being 'unreasonable' and how 'unfair' it is to Leanne and Kal so she looks like the wronged party.

True, in January.
Nick does have brain damage - he keeps telling us this - which must be the cause of his change of personality (the actor said, I think).

Yes but he dumped her because he felt he couldn't be a proper husband to her and was scared that his brain damage would cause him to physically hurt her or Simon. It wasn't because he didn't love her and he assumed that she still loved him.
I also think he believed that if he made a full recovery (got back to being the 'old' Nick) there would be a chance of reconciliation and he has been working towards making a full recovery. I'm sure he didn't think that she'd move on to someone else after only a couple of months (and this thing with Kal did start a couple of months ago) and certainly not a man who has been helping with his recovery and he considered a friend.
Now Nick probably should have communicated all that to her (that he hoped the split would be temporary) and she should have made it clear that she had fallen out of love with him and wouldn't go back - brain damage or no brain damage. But they didn't so they both feel they are in the right and the other has behaved unreasonably.

Good points kitkat. However I blame the writing as it's not clear whether he's acting like this as a result of the brain injuries or just being a douche lol.

And the character did call time on their marriage in January, again said by the actor.

I think it is meant to be the brain damage but I don't actually find it that out of character. Nick has always had a nasty streak. He was a little bugger to Gail when he was in his early teens. He set out to get Brian's killer when he was released from Prison and endangered Leanne in the process. He was pretty uncaring towards Natasha, dumped Eva without a shred of guilt when he got a sniff of Leanne again, was happy to encourage Peter's drinking to try and get Leanne before that. So really I think the brain damage has just exageratted an aspect of his character and personality that was already there. Almost as though he's lost a filter to regulate his behaviour.
I'm not disputing that the split happened in January which is now nearly 6 months ago. It is the reasons for the split which are important here, at least to how Nick views it. Also that Nick knows that it was going on for a while before he found out so might be thinking it started a long time ago - perhaps even before they split and to be fair I think Kal was interested even back then though he didn't make a move. It did start March time didn't it (it was before Stella had left) so really was only weeks after the split - not months.

I thought May / June as far as Leanne was concerned.
Really despise Nick. Such a vile character, I hate Leanne aswell to be fair they were my most hated couple in any soap.

Tina was attacked last week in May and they'd just decided to make a go of it after Leanne had thought it best to end things following the ONS they jad several weeks prior so that must have been sometime in April and the flirting had beeen happening for several weeks prior to that so I think it was March it became mutual. Didn't he first ask her out around the time Stella left which was March I think.
