I think it is nice that some females dress in a respectable manner, rather than like whores looking for their next sexual encounter like most young and not so young females tend to do these days.

I have never understood why females would wear a skirt or dress so short that it shows their genital area but spend every minute tugging it down as if they don't want to show everything to the world but do anyway!
And here's someone FROM the '50s to explain to us all about Leanne's awful dress sense

The 1850s, that is

Leanne really should change her name by deed poll now I'm thinking, to go with her dowdy attire.
It's the logical next step.

Miss Babbersham would suit.

She should also become a regular at Aud's salon, along with fellow OAPs Mrs Elderberrybush and Mrs Honeysucklefanny - and start drinking nothing but thimbles of sweet sherry in the Rovers instead of her usual half of lager and lime.

Liz could say ... "The usual Miss Babbersham?" ... when she enters the Rovers in a haughty manner, befitting of her newly reinvented self.
"I'll thank you to simply pour the beverage and keep the social niceties to yourself bar-wench" ... she'd reply, her nose stuffily high in the air obviously.

Karl could add to the new image by wearing a flowing black cloak and mortar board.
He would naturally be Miss Babbersham's keen suitor, admiring her from afar, and they could start officially courting.

Obviously Curly Simon would need to change his name to something like Godfrey or Edgar, in order to fit in, but I can't see him having a problem with that.

I actually think she dresses well. Makes a change for a younger female character not to have the usual hair extensions, fake tan and tarty clothes.
I agree. My BF thinks Leanne is the bees knees and suffers withdrawal symptoms if she doesn't appear in an episode.

I was trying to point out that someone else was being very mean about Leanne's 'granite hard face' elsewhere on this thread, which is as you say unpleasant and unfair and rubbish as well, and not the superficial stuff like wardrobe hair etc, which is a different thing altogether as we all know.
Agreed (Not that we ever do agree)

How old is the character supposed to be? She married Nick Tilsely in her teens, then divorced him. Nick went away and got a new head, came back and she married him again. Did she know that this was the same man that she had married the first time? Did she actually marry Peter Barlow or did they just live together? Why does Simon Barlow live with her when she is not related to him? So many questions left unanswered.
