I have tried for 3 years and nothing!! We've all shared each others registration numbers and there's been 10 of us trying. I met someone today and we got talking and they said they've been 8 years in a row! They said that there's a thing you can do where you change some settings on your computer and it puts you to the front of the ticket queue. Does anyone have any help/advice?!

I hate to be one to promote other sites, but efestivals.co.uk is a great site for this. People there seem to know a lot about going yearly.

Today was my first year trying, I was the only one out of my group of 5 trying to get through, and within 10 minutes I'd paid and had the tickets secured. No problems at all...

I think it's a bit of luck to be honest. I don't know anything about changing settings on computers to get the front of queues. I have no proof but I would guess that's a load of rubbish, although I'd be happily proved wrong if someone could show me!!

For this year's Glastonbury, I had my land line phoning the ticket line (always engaged) and I had my laptop, my tablet and my phone all on the website constantly pressing refresh on each gadget. It was around 10:20 in the morning when my tablet managed to get through to the bit where you enter your registration number and even then it crashed after the first attempt. Luckily I was able to reload the page and it accepted mine and my friends registration numbers on the second attempt. I believe the tickets were sold out in around 90mins, so there was 80mins on the clock when mine were confirmed. Just lucky this time around I guess.

hang on - you wrote 'Today was my first year trying ' that post is dated 3-7-2014

so are you claiming you have bought tickets for Glastonbury 2015 ?

as going by http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.u...ation/tickets/

it states ' Glastonbury Festival 2015 will take place from June 24th-28th, 2015. Further information about tickets for next year's Festival will be released later in 2014 '

so do you wish to change your claim ?

They only setting change would be to log in via the server of one of the ticket sellers. This is just an urban myth

I have been attending Glastonbury for the past 35 years although for the past 25 years I have worked at it as there is no way would I go though the current lottery system.

It ' used ' to be possible not to ' to get the front of the queue' but enter a different far smaller queue - its all down to the way the Servers balance their load -

People would share that address so it was possible to skip a large chunk of the queue but the staff in the Back office could change this address so preventing others from using that same address.

I have friends who work in that Back office but the first year they spotted it ' there was no Senior Manager on duty ' so they were unsure what the policy was - since then they were told to change the address if they spotted unusual activity hence why this trick soon gets closed down.

You could always move to one of the South Somerset villages that are eligibly for the locals only tickets

I'm moving to Bristol in Sept does that mean it'd be easier due tom locality or does it have to be S.Somerset?

You literally have to live in Pilton or one of the other villages right next to the festival - Bristol won't get you anything.

I guess it is luck, but we were lucky to get tickets for every festival between 2002 and last year. Couldn't go this year unfortunately.

The worst was the year they went on sale at 4pm, and it took us until about 1am to get tickets. Practically non stop trying on the phone and internet. Persistence helps.

I assume registering in advance helps keep numbers down on the day, but no idea how many people register.

£210 to see Kanye West?

For anyone who wasn't successful in getting tickets for Glastonbury 2015, I think they did you a favour!

What a stupid thing to say. I saw the full sets from about 15 acts this year so means it was roughly £14 per act, including Kanye West (who I'm not denying was shit). Then there are all the acts that I walked past and caught a few songs of plus all the entertainment in the Circus and Theatre fields plus loads more...

Yes it sounds like a lot of money but really I think it's fantastic value for money considering the level of detail put into the festival.

Sshhh! The more people who think it's overpriced and overly corporate the less people will apply for tickets!

On the acts thing, I saw 19 full sets overall. Baring in mind around half of them were big acts who charge £30/40 a ticket then I personally got my moneys worth on the bands alone.

Yes because he was the only act on wasn't he? Forget the hundreds if not thousands of other acts over the 3 days, plus the fact you can get in on the Wednesday and see plenty of entertainment before the festival even starts properly.

Alright calm down Sherlock. Did you consider maybe, just MAYBE, it was a typo? All that energy put into your post trying to "catch me out" would be better spent on learning how to not get wound up by things so easily. Good day to you.

It's not a stupid thing to say at all! I am in no doubt that people can go along to the Glastonbury Festival and have a good time, I just don't think it's for me. For example, I know of someone who went this year and spent the majority of the time in the area of the craft tents; he saw very little of the musical offerings at all.

It's horses-for-courses, really. People can find and do whatever they're interested in.

Why don't I go? Well, 20 years ago I might-well have done, but, I'm sorry to say, the whole thing seems far too money-orientated to me!

I'd be very interested to know how much Kanye West was paid.

Michael Eavis went to watch The Moody Blues, who were playing in the Acoustic Stage at the same time that Kanye West was "performing" Had I been there I myself would have gone to watch the Moody Blues as well. They weren't even televised!

I'm pleased you feel you got your money's-worth!

Last time I went to Glastonbury we just drove to some box office somewhere and bought the tickets over the counter, and they'd been on sale for a few weeks already.

That was 1992.
