Just finished watching Thursday evening extended programme. Sorry but I think it's time to give EE a break and me a rest from the drival which I have just watched. Alfie has been totally washed out as a character, Bianca as a squeaking drivelling arrogant character and then there is the return of Dean(o).

This has nothing to do with the actors please don't think so it's the writers who need to pull their socks up but I am at a loss to suggest anything which will pull this out of the dark times.

When they had their big clearout up top, I think they forgot that it's still the same writers who wrote all those awful episodes the last few years - they needed binned too.

Don't watch it anymore then, but some of us still want to watch it, so no thanks to the break.

Terrible set of episodes, the type of silliness that other soaps get away with but not what I want from EastEnders. It really feels like whatever producer it has, they give up during the summer.

It's not that bad really. I don't think modern viewers are able to cope with soap narratives these days - not ever week can be action packed, things have to be fleshed out. The problem with LN's era was this "fleshing" process was stretched over years.

For what it was worth, I thought tonight had some funny lines and set up a couple of future storylines. Was alright.

The first half was okay, the second was pretty dull. But neither of them were a disaster. There were some funny lines in there and it was watchable enough for an hour.

I am enjoying it, it's a bit quiet but what do you expect them to do during the World Cup. I think we are in for one heck if an autumn

I bowed out just after Chrimbo.
Haven't missed it a jot.

In fact, my life is infinitely richer for it.

Did this really need its own thread? I think Corri is crap and haven't watched in ages but I don't post a thread about it.

Isnt it about time that people just accepted that there are several soaps each with their own fans and stop the sniping. It always boils down to soap wars. Its getting really tedious.

They're not going to put out their best stuff during Wimbledon and the World Cup. They just need to keep it ticking over until the sports events are over.

I quite like the Carol stuff. It's a stupid storyline (peddling drugs in the cafe) but I could watch Lindsey Coulson read the phone book - I think she's great.

That whole scene with Roxy and Aleks, i knew from the moment she accused him of cheating the girl in question could be a relative or friend of his. That whole scene was predictable!
