Fabio Capello forced to appear before Russian parliament

To explain their poor showing at the World Cup.
Why wasn't he forced to do the same here after England's disastrous showing last time?

If he disappears, we should check the the uranium mines in the east of Russia first.

Goes to show Capello's strict style doesn't work with international teams in tournaments.

They probably want to make sure their national team isn't a flop in front of their own fans come 2018.

Will Capello even be there...

Yes, that's always worked out well in the past when people have been forced to appear in front of the authorities in Moscow...

Remember the brand of exciting football Hiddink had them playing in 2008? I was really disappointed in Russia's performances and worry for their chances in their own world cup in 4 years time.

PMSL!!!

I could imagine him cowering before Vlad The Insaner, whilst trousering millions of rubles every year from the Russian FA.

Capello is on a nice little earner, nicely padding out his pension fund before he rides off into the sunset.

He's going from country to country, pocketing a shed load each time whilst giving as little as possible in return.

PS: I wonder if he's learnt to speak Russian properly?

Hiddink is a MUCH better coach than Capello and he actually cares about the teams he coaches, whereas Capello couldn't give a shit. It was by far the worst Russian team of all time.

He certainly has a much better record at International level taking the Dutch and South Korea to World Cup semis.

Think they have the same sort of record at club level - maybe slightly more success for Capello but he's had more clubs?

Quote:
“And Capello yesterday stoked up the rivalry between the two countries ahead of Sunday’s quarter-final clash by having a pop at Wayne Rooney’s English.
The Italian, who never grasped even the basics of our language during his four years here, hit back at Scouser Roo after he said on Sunday having an English manager made understanding team talks and tactics easier and “nothing got lost in translation”.
That incensed Capello who declared yesterday: “Look, when I spoke they did understand me.
“But every now and then, when I tried to explain tactics, things didn’t work out.
"You know what? Maybe it’s because Rooney doesn’t speak English. He doesn’t understand English.””

Russia didn't even qualify for three out of the last four World Cups.
What do the authorities expect?

Exactly. It would be humiliating for a country of Russia's political and football standing to go out in the group stage as hosts. Russia's club football seems pretty solid to me so it was odd how lacklustre they were especially in their last game against Algeria.

Because it would appear that the government in the UK has got some sense of perspective

Possibly because everyone knows that we've had a continuously sh*t record in international tournaments since 1950, bar one or two exceptions.

Then again maybe we could see if they's extradite him.
