My broadband speed has been slowing to almost a standstill over the past month or so. It used to be a reasonable 8mgps and now it's less than 2.

2 things have changed during this period. Infinity is finally available in my area and also I have connected my skybox to the internet.

It's not as if I can use the on demand services from sky as they are too slow, but now I can't even watch I player on my tablet, or stream any video.

What is happening here? I'm suspicious that BT have slowed the speed in order to encourage everyone to go fibre. Or could it be that my skybox connection has changed something?

I'm an elderly widow living alone and not too confident about what to do next. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Is there any noise on the phone line, hissing or crackling when the broadband is slow ?
Try unplugging the Sky box ... any difference ?
Find out your connection speed from the Home Hub (this is for Home Hub 3).

Please provide linestats as above.

Dial 17070 on your landline and run a quiet line test - should be totally silent, with no hissing or crackles.
