EE : Carol Jackson makes me want to switch off
I have felt this way about her since she came back to be honest but each times she's snarled and whinge I've rolled my eyes and put up with it but watching her yesterday really was the actual final straw for me and I think I will find it - well actually I won't - I won't be watching any scenes with Carol in because her eternal po-faced and miserable disposition and constant negativity just brings me down and makes me feel ill. I just want to switch the TV off.
I cannot stand the way she never cracks a smile, is constantly moaning, She blows hot and cold like the wind with David, she's either all over him or telling he's useless and to leave. Yes! She's had a hard life but half the U.K. are young mothers/families on the breadline. They still manage to have a laugh and are able to show love. I also can't stand the way Carol always says "we'll manage, we always do". That's rubbish! They never manage cos they're always without money. She's hard and she's got double standards e.g. The selling drugs thing tonight. I know she's ill and if it was her illness making her such a draining character to watch then I could understand but she's a moody, mardy old cow and there's no reason for it. Hope they axe her or kill her off after Bianca leaves or better still before!!! |

I can't say I enjoy watching Carol. If ever there was a glass half empty type of character it's Carol Jackson. Even when her life is going well she'll find something to moan about.

LC is a good actress but since her return, Carol has been beyond dull. I'm not sure a cancer story was a good move for Carol. They needed to inject some life into the character, not take it away.

One of the finest actors in the Soap in all seriousness but It would be nice to see her in a more fun storyline though. I know what you mean by never smiling. I think that's just an Eastenders thing though. I think Kat has only smiled twice since she returned and poor Dot Cotton has lasted about 20 years without one

....and threw him out of his sister's house and banished him from Walford so that he could no longer see his daughter and grandchildren. If Carol's miserable then everyone has to be miserable...it's the law.

Can't stand her. She wouldn't be experiencing this financial mess now if she hadn't booted post-cardiac arrest David out into the street, all because he had the ridiculous idea of trying to make her happy. Mission impossible, if ever there was one.

She was only ever bearable when she was with David. Now she has reverted to bitter put upon harpie. Her miserable face would make you want to switch off I agree.
I suppose the twist is that SHE will end up going to prison for drug dealing whenever Lindsay (who is a fine actress and seems lovely in real life) goes off on her break??? How will they get rid of Bianca so? I wonder could David have another health scare (off screen) and she go off to mind him?? |

Completely agree. She's another of these characters we're expected to like just because the actress is good. The acting is in no doubt but the character is a miserable old hag. Giving Carol cancer only amplifies the misery for an already draining character.

I like a character with a bit of fire in their belly and with some humour about them, Carol is a pretty depressing character and every story she has seems to amplify her misery, you're right. I don't find her interesting to watch ATM.

I wouldn't mind if they killed Carol off and then Bianca & co can go and live with David...at least they could have some fun in their lives. Carol has always made it look like such a chore being around her family.

I hope Carol stays, but I agree, it wouldn't hurt to smile more than she does!

The resident martyr who actively makes herself (& everyone around her) miserable and then has the gall to play the victim about it.
I wouldn't lose any sleep if they killed her off and put her, and us, out our misery. |

I feel so sorry for Carol, but last night, she was completely out of character.
