Venue: Venue: Arena Fonte Nova, Salvador

Whichever teams wins, they will go to the next stage of the tournament called the "Semi-Finals"

Both teams will be looking to win by scoring more goals than their opponents. For example, if Holland score 3 goals and Costa Rica score 4, then Costa Rica win because they scored one more goal than Holland.

Goals are scored by placing the ball into between the two goal posts, with the ball crossing the line.

Please gain joy and merriment from the match!

Costa Rica looked legless in their last game after 70 minutes....makes you wonder how they might have performed in the heat that the Dutch played in the last round (38°).

Very nervous about this. I just hope the Dutch don't already picture themselves with the World Cup and remember there are still 3 difficult games to play.

Look no further than Argentina in the Semi's - that's of course if NL win and the lovely neighbours lose.

Holland must win a game on penalties soon, law of averages!!

I think it will be a Germany v Holland final and Germany will lose dramatically - revenge for '74

England must think that too...

I'm sure I have witnessed Holland win on penalties in my life time, can't remember when that was though.

Do Holland have a better record on penalties in field hockey?

Maybe they could seek advice from their hockey counterparts?

Hoping for a Costa Rica win.

It would be insane if Costa Rica gets to the semi final. Doubt they'll win though.

Holland to win well and give the entire world cup a badly needed injection of quality football.

I recently read 'Brilliant Orange' by David Winner. A great insight into Dutch football and the country itself. In it he insinuates that The Netherlands are that obsessed with winning in a particular way that winning on pens somehow seems Immoral.

Stat from the BBC:

"The Netherlands have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 World Cup knockout games, last keeping a shutout against Ireland in 1994."

Didn't seem that bothered about it in the 2010 WC final.

Should be a few goals in this one, have put £10 on 2.5 goals or more.

I am on a hot streak having won £225 for a £100 bet yesterday on Brazil game.

(I correctly guessed the Germans and Argie games would not have many goals)

It's frustrating because the book was written in 2000. I would have loved to have got an in depth analysis of the country's feeling about how they went about that final. They weren't totally happy with the way they performed when they won the Euro's in 88

I really want holland to win tonight but on the other hand I don't as I can't stand Robben and his diving!

Should Robben actually being playing considering he has admitted cheating. I like the Dutch team but it leaves a bad taste.

Ah, if only...

I think it's going to be a tough one tonight. The Dutch team don't always give it their all, and tend to be easily disheartened. They'll have to fully go for it against Costa Rica, and not just in the second half.

Hup, Holland Hup!
