I hope to see the Shirley/Mick reveal and Andy and Sylvie to be cast.
More on the Dot/Charlie/Yvonne story.
Those are my two favourite stories atm, so anything involving those would make for a cracking Christmas day!

The Carters end up with a few surpise guests for Christmas Dinner whilst Dot struggles too cope with recent events... and there's a BIG shock in store when one resident tells Emma they know something about Good Friday ...something huge!!

I hope Andy doesn't turn up to the Square. Shirley has far too many characters introduced for her. I think this year's Xmas will be all about the Carters. Hopefully the Cottons will get involved. The Beales will spend their first Xmas without Lucy. Phil and Sharon may have an involvement but Sharon hasn't been involved in any Xmas episodes since her return in 2012. I hope the Jacksons have a backseat for this year's Xmas.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Saint Stacey will be getting a big Christmas storyline she's surely to be very involved?

Oh yeah I forgot about Stacey! And maybe Ronnie will give birth to her child on Xmas Day?

I want to see both Andy and Sylvie come into it eventually, they would obs not just be introduced for Shirley, they would affect all of the Carters esp Stan and Mick. I also think the Carters will play a big role in Christmas seen as they are the new family.

I'm definitely hoping for more Cottons, Charlie/Yvonne are intriguing me, I think there may be a Lucy twist but considering it is the big 30th anniversary story, I don't think it will dominate Christmas.

I hope the Jacksons/Mitchells and Brannings take a backseat this year and the Cottons, Carters and Beales will be at the forefront.

Christmas Eve - It's anything but a silent night for the residents of Walford as Mick finds someone sleeping rough in his cellar, Dot meets the ghost of Christmas past and Abi finds out about Ben's secret!

Christmas Day - The Carters end up with a few surpise guests for Christmas Dinner whilst Dot struggles too cope with recent events... and there's a BIG shock in store when one resident tells Emma they know something about Good Friday ...something huge!!

Boxing Day (hour long episode) - Peter tries to keep it together as police arrest one of his neighbours. Denise try's too help out at the Albert, whilst Dean calls in a favour with Aleks... How well do they know each other???

I'd be surprised if Christmas wasn't Carter centric. Probably the Shirley/Mick reveal and maybe something Tina related?

The Beales obviously have the "first christmas without" storyline, but I agree with whoever said that the WKL? story might not be so prominent since it resolves in the New Year.

Stacey will probably get something big for Christmas, (not Max hopefully) and I'd imagine Ronnie will be giving birth at some time around then. (Though for morbid effect, I see her having another New Year birth, the anniversary of her killing Carl and three year anniversary since James.

See just goes to show how far ahead they plan and write things. 6 whole months to go and Xmas is done. So when everyone was blaming Newman and forgetting she let Kirkwood's storylines play out just remember they were always his material and a fair bit of DTCs first work, which everyone was praising, to the high heavens no less, will have been Newman's.

That's how it works.

Not really looking forward to the Carters tbh, they're good but they're overrated.

Who is Andy and Sylvie by the way?

If Sylvie and Andy are having lots of scenes with the other Carters, then I'm up for it . I think Shirley does deserve a new love interest so maybe Andy can come in. Mick does need to know who is his real dad.

The Cottons are so interesting and I'm desperately hoping we will see more of Yvonne and Charlie as they're fascinating to watch. And I'm hoping there will be more Cottons introduced as well

Yes you're right. Storylines are always planned at least 6 months ahead. Lorraine Newman was not that good as executive producer but she did really try her best (even though she introduced rubbish storylines). Felt sorry for Lorraine Newman because she worked at EastEnders for over 20 years.

I'd like to see a Carter and Moon/ Slater Christmas. We had the Beales, Mitchells and Butchers last year. I'm all for a Ronnie birth with Charlie and Dot involved.

She was with Jack at the Brannings her first year and I thought she was at the Beale/Mitchells last year.

I think Ian will be given a good Christmas this year just have a feeling and everyone else will get hell this Christmas. Would love to see Ian be the one that has to help deliver Ronnies baby and she has a daughter just imagine the scenes with Ian getting all teary eyed emotional but happy tears

I would totally love christmas episodes featuring all the residents of the Square but centring on the Carter family, with the revelation that Shirley is Mick's mum and side
stories involving the Moons/Jacksons/Butchers.

Yep, Stan doesn't know, apparently its just Shirley, Sylvie and Aunt Babe who know. I don't know if Andy was supposed to have known back then.

I hope its the Beales, I have noticed that the 20th and 25th anniversaries both had their respective stars at the center of the preceeding Cjristmas. So would like the Beales to have it as I do love thier family and they havent had an Xmas episode since 2006
