but how could you not measure your success by them facts? how else can a soap possibly measure their success? it seems like alot of people dont like the show at the moment but there must be an equal amount of people who do, people didn't just vote for it and increase its viewership for the laugh

clutching at straws, people multiple vote for the other shows as well I'm sure. you make it sound like its a bunch of kids watching hollyoaks and the fact that younger voted for it to win means its not really that important, stop being so silly

I think it won because of Kieron Richardson's fans. They voted literally hundreds of times every day, and they voted Hollyoaks every time. I don't think it was a large amount of people voting for the show.

IMO 80% of the characters no longer have their personalities and are often writed around the storyline instead of the chacters personality and for me i feel detached from alot of the characters.

im not saying its all BKs fault but the storyliners and script writers really need to be gone or change their ways

I agree that they did but then why didn't he win Best Actor? There must have been others voting for Hollyoaks who didn't vote for Kieron

He didn't win best actor because David Neilson was the stand out front-runner from the start. Almost everyone, across the board, whether they watch CS, EE, ED or HO was voting for him. Everyone knows who Roy Cropper is, and he'd had a massive storyline, and absolutely nailed it. I'm an ED fan, but even I voted for David, because I could see he deserved it, and lots of other ED/EE fans will have done the same. Where there's a clear front-runner, and the main vote isn't split, the multi-voting wasn't enough to make a difference. Where the main vote is split, eg best soap, where everyone votes for their own, it does make a difference.

Not clutching at straws at all. Hollyoaks haa a much younger viewer base than other soaps. Yes older people watch it but the majority are younger also it isnt really that important I think the show is dire but if people want to vote for it well thats their perogative
