I had no idea Matthew was so disliked by the public. I thought he'd win

You would have thought standing up to Helen was enough to keep him in. But ive already said what i think happened in the previous post. But atleast he didnt go around claiming hes fun bit arrogant of Ash e.t.c. But yeah barely no one in this bb is that fun.

I think people liked him standing up to Helen but then the found the fact he didn't shut up about it and still sniping and bitching a week later off putting did he really have to bring it up again at the party?

For me it was the Skid Mark line a line used by the 2nd worse HM in history showed him rather then to be intellectually superior to be worse than a 7 year old.

3. His girlfriend was a bleak representative. She came across as condescendingly as Matthew does.”

I think his girlfriend was really his death knell. Had she been fun or exciting, he would not have been voted. After the BOTS show, I said those 2 together seem like that super-tight couple you see on the news who go around committing murders and when they're caught, all they talk about is their love for each other.

I don't think Toya made him get evicted at all. To me, the 3 things were
1. Getting back at Ashleigh. 18yr old who thinks a 33 yr old is too big for her boots among other things.

2. His rude comments. Forget about the Helen stuff(that helped him), but he just seemed like a bitter old man.

3. That girlfriend. Ugh. For those who did not watch BOTS, showing her off when the lines were frozen did not help.

I agree but we all know Ash is a idiot Matt believes he is some kind of super genius he hardly came across that way.

As said I don't like Ash Matt Helen or Ashleigh

I did want Ash to go but Matt was a great 2nd prize

People are underestimating the pro Helen's group vote. Did everyone expect the other group to knock her group one by one? Helen, Winston, Marlon, Ash, Steven are a group, their fans would have voted to evict Matthew.

2 of each group has been evicted now, it's balanced basically.

ye Ash's behaviour (and Helens) has been constant and vile since the beginning Matthews was in reaction to Helen attacking him.

The Skid Mark line was days later the party comments over a week later so why was he dwelling on it 24/7 for over a week even Helen had moved on

I was indifferent about Matt most of the time. This series is super hard to find someone you really like and to stay liking them though lol I find that anyway.

You know what a another thing a housemate can be regular nasty or mean for a week or two , but be not as nasty for a short period of time following.

Some of the voting public will then forget the past somewhat having short term memories basically. So often the most recent nasty or mean comment will be remembered the most and if you happen to be up that week you could well go whoever youre up against.

It was NOT the edit, it was Ashleigh, plain and simple. 2 wrongs don't make a right, the ends do not justify the means etc etc.

This was NOT a pro-Helen vote by the public, it was an anti-Ashleigh vote.”

Exactly. Helen after a few drinks is heavy going - no one wants to be on the receiving end of that, but she is aware that she has flaws, and she does apologise. Ashleigh, on the other hand, appears to be like that all the time, and so, to a lesser extent, did Matthew, who pretty much self-destructed this week. All he had to do was stay under the radar, like Ash did, and for not taking this fairly simple idea on board. he kind of deserves to be out. For all he came across well in his exit interview.

Only because she is on her best behaviour. And he probably thought the public supported him as Helen is revolting.

I said it in another thread but put Ashleigh in a funny hat this week for a task and she will get raucous cheers on Friday.

Agree with some of your post , but Heen has gobbed of sober and doesnt always apologize. Also alcohol is never an excuse everyone controls what they out in there mouth. As far as i know shes not ill and an alcoholic so no excuse.

But Helen and co carried out a campaign of bullying and ostracising of Jale according to this forum Has this conveniently been forgotten?

Can people just STOP the sexist comments please?

I'm referring to the "young girlies" who are apparently so shallow and air headed they'd save Ash just cos he's hot.

Or the ugly/older women who apparently did it to spite Ashleigh out of jealousy.

You have no proof of either and it's flagrantly offensive about swathes of women. We never EVER hear these criticisms when an attractive male is evicted ("it's all the jealous male voters") or when an attractive woman is saved ("its because she's pretty").

What your forgetting is that the crowd and the voters, have no correlation with who the forum hate and love.
Most people like Matthew, including me, but the forum is only about 2 - 3,000 viewers, out of 2 million, and only a quarter of the forum actually vote.

The rest of the voters probably disliked Matthew, and voted him out, plus didn't Rylan say it was the closest eviction of the series, I'm guessing it was only a 1-2% difference between him and Ash.

The pace of this years show is so frenetic that anything that happened a week ago may as well have taken place last century. What did for Matthew, and what's going to do for Ashleigh too, is a refusal, rightly or wrongly, to just let things go. Like wars, every Big Brother series is different; you can't base your strategy on what went on last time. This year, being 'real' or being 'true to your principles' is not the way to avoid eviction. Even Danielle, who, let's face it, won't be appearing on Mastermind any time soon, seems to understand this.

Vote to evict isn't very democratic.

Funny, that's how Tamara came across to me, both in her VT and in the house.
