Receiving radio signals should not be a problem. It's devices that transmit that could be a problem.

And receivers transmit as well. Local oscillator radiation. FM receivers are a particular problem as local oscillator radiation at 10.7 MHz higher can be in the aircraft traffic control band.
I presume if the radio on the iPod Nano was known to cause interference to the operation of the aircraft, Apple would have included a setting to turn off the radio receiver?
I heard from several people and read it years ago that the only reason they tell you to turn off your mobile phone and any other electronic devices is because it could potentially interfere with the credit card machines they have on board when they have items to sell.
