Oh dear...

Also, what's wrong with just calling fans "fans"...? I hate this whole giving-fans-a-different-name thing.

Why don't they do the tour first and then do the album, what's the rush? Anyone know when their album is out..is it this year?

I hate it when people cancel or postpone a tour without a very good reason as to why. They must have known that a third album was going to happen at some point, so I think that canceling to focus on something that was pretty much inevitable and defiinitely on the cards is bad.

From their management's point of view though...They're a manufactured girl group. They need to keep releasing music. I don't know how well their other album sold as I'm not a huge fan or follower but they need to keep producing. I'd imagine that their record company had a set amount of tickets that they wanted to sell and they didn't reach that target.

Also the next series of the X Factor is just around the corner. They'll need to fit in a performance.

oh crikey such a bad decision .... they should have just downsized and continued with a newly announced support act.....this could kill the loyalty of US fans ...and in the end affect future album and single sales and popularity

The album is clearly an excuse because the ticket sales weren't what they expected.

They can't say tour cancelled because of poor sales so they make an excuse no matter how lame it is.

Why would you cancel a tour for the sake of an album which can be put back for a while? And is the release of an album and a performance on XF that important?
The last album was reasonably good although the singles were released in the wrong order and they could do with a killer single if they are to progress.

You wouldn't, But saying 'We aren't shifting the tickets' makes the tour sound a failure so you use a positive (New album) to cover it

Despite what the press hype up LM are not that popular in the U.S, their singles have all flopped, the albums both hit top 10 but that's because the initial fanbase bought it in the first week of release, but that is only about 120k, nowhere near even gold.

Yet still more successful than other British girl bands in the last decade and a half...

Out of other girl bands who have actually given it a proper go then yes, LM have been more successful, but since no other girlband has actually tried I don't think we can really count any others.

Why would Americans even want to see a band like Little mix in the first place? They've got a plethora of similar, but vastly superior, outfits like them already.

The problem is that these XF acts are just seen by Cowell as a cashcow to be milked as quickly as possibly and then thrown away to make way for the next lot. So rather to give them time to work on decent material, they are rushed into the studio to churn out an album a year, each one progressively worse than the last.

Exactly the same happened with JLS where their debut was promising but rather than taking their time to improve their output, they were rushed into churning out crap to boost the Cowell coffers

To be fair Little Mix's second album is better then their first one and there were a few decent singles on it, just not the songs that got released. LM seem to have gone with a R n'B style which is a little harder to pull off than say the straight pop of Girls Aloud.

I think LM are being rushed into a third album and they had better hope it has some killer singles on it.

Yeah because the Saturdays didn't 'give it a proper go' with their TV show and getting a had been rent a rapper in their track. Just laughable comments in this forum. Constant dragging of people down not recognising actual achievements.

The Saturdays didn't give it a proper go though, barely any promo, their management notoriously sucks, everyone in the pop world knows that, hence why they called them back to the UK just as their song was about to hit the hot 100, then it ended up flopping because they didn't give it a "proper go". Unlike Little Mix. Who have.

The Saturdays did no promo? That is laughable. They had their own TV show but nobody wanted to watch. Little Mixes UK sales alone are incredible in comparison to where they are in their career and where the Saturdays are...and the Saturdays have got 5 albums and 18 singles under there belt!

They are very unpopular in the UK too. They get overplayed on all the major radio stations and tv but people have been getting annoyed because they mime so badly.

Their Children in Need Charity single, which should have been a guaranteed number one, only reached number six. One of their recent singles had a first week chart position of number 54.

They have become such a joke act in the UK I wouldn't be surprised if Cowell pulled the plug. Which also means the fake relationships will come to an end too.

The Saturdays flopped as reality TV star celebrities. They didn't send their song to radio and only performed the song three times on US TV (to promote the reality show) and even then they were close to breaking the top 100 on iTunes after one performance, something that took the likes of Ellie Goulding and Cher Lloyd about 6 months to do. There was demand for The Saturdays as a music act (they sold out The Roxy theatre before they even premiered their TV show) but they didn't bother following up with it after the TV show flopped.
