Ok just opening for discussion, not meaning to be nasty, but really, are these people actually models as in the Cara/Kate vibe or in the case of Ash the Sean O'Pry/ Clement C thing? Really, fair play to them and good for them but I just find it a touch embarrassing really.

I'd say that Ash and Ashleigh are commercial models as opposed to high fashion. They work in the provinces not NYC, Paris or Milan.
A successful commercial model actually tends to earn more than your average fashion model, the exception of course is the handful at the top of the food chain who manage to snag the juicy beauty/fashion contracts and become the face of the brand - they can earn squillions!

I get the feeling the term "model" is becoming very over-used in modern society---something like the term "celebrity." The connotation that springs to mind in reality is quite different.

I know. Who taught Danielle to do her makeup?? Isn't she supposed to be a professional---or at least work around people who know how to apply makeup? Did she not go to a finishing school that trains young women on the skills to attract "aristocrats." Surely that training involves grooming and makeup?????
