'Up for Nomination' has infected Official DS Posts

From the Matthew eviction article, which can be found here.

"The 23-year-old media graduate was up for nomination alongside five other guys in the house as part of the latest Power Trip twist...". I am sad.

I honestly don't know how people make this mistake.

I have worked in the media for more years than I care to think about and I have had a great many "media graduates" come to me - most of whom are much like this young man because in more recent years to graduate in the media does not mean what it used to be.

Many degrees now are meaningless and although I am not saying that is the case here I don't consider that he is in a position to look down his nose at others intellectual capacity ( if you get my drift ).

Exactly my point. Years ago it was a great opportunity in a growing industry, now everyone and their mother can get a media degree. I'm speaking from experience too, I was forced to do Media Studies at GCSE in my shithole of a school.

I can see that you are speaking from experience Zadeth - as I was.

I had to earn my graduation and many young people now graduate in the most ridiculous subjects you can imagine and absolutely no good at all for the work place.

Not saying that is the case here but "Media Studies" now is a little more general than it was then. He may well prove me wrong at some point but from what I have seen so far I am not holding my breath.
