I use Skype mostly on my mobile to keep in touch with ppl when I am not at my computer. There appears to have been an update to the mobile version and it now won't allow me to sign back in using my existing Skype ID which means I can't get to my contacts. It will, however, let me log in using a Microsoft profile and then offer to "link" to another account but again no option for linking to an existing Skype ID.

I have spent most of the day trawling many forums for Skype information and it appears so many people are in the same boat. Most have been using Skype since the early days and have an existing ID, or a personal and work profile, yet this new version only allows Microsoft accounts.

Has anyone else had this problem and possibly found a solution to it? Am still looking but as I do not wish to use my hotmail address for skype and do not want my hotmail or facebook contacts "linked" to my existing Skype profile (if I could log in that is)

still no solution to this and apparently it is happening to a lot of people after the recent update. Many unhappy Skype users from what I am reading who have come across the same issues.

Just link your Skype ID to your microsoft account. It just means you use your MS account for logging in, nothing else.
